Erickson Elementary School

This month Erickson Elementary Students experienced the vibrant world of Capoeira with Ache Brasil from Vancouver, BC. The Capoeira Academy shared a unique blend of martial arts, music, and culture. Ache Brasil has performed in thousands of festivals, theatres and school shows.

Our Intermediate students are preparing for the upcoming Track and Field Day on May 24th.

We welcomed Peter White (kanǂupqa kȼiǂmiyit/ Night runner) the week leading up to Pow Wow at Erickson Elementary. Peter White is a Traditional Dancer from Yaqan Nukiy. Peter shared stories from his journey, teachings about Pow Wow, and Traditional Dance. One of the highlights was the Round Dance with the whole community.

A huge thanks to our PAC, who hosted an amazing Teacher Appreciation Lunch for our Educators this week. As you can see, the spread of food they prepared was amazing and left our community feeling much appreciated. Thank you so much.

A huge thanks to all our teachers as every single class prepared and performed a very thoughtful and captivating performance for the Focus on Youth Festival. This week, we were treated to an Erickson Elementary performance which showcased our community's many talents. Thanks again to our amazing teachers and students.
