Martian PTO Walk-A-Thon
Our Oaktree walkers had a lot of fun at the PTO Walk-A-Thon! A huge thank you to everyone who was able to pledge their support to our students. We also want to thank the Martian PTO for organizing the walk-a-thon and for giving us their time during the event to the benefit of our students. It was a great day at Oaktree!

Halloween
Oaktree will celebrate Halloween with classroom parties and a costume parade in the morning on Thursday, October 31st. This is a half day of school with students released at 12:00.
Classroom Parties: The time for your child's classroom party is determined by your child's teacher. Please watch for information from them about the party.
Visitors: All visitors must check in at the office. Visitors must have a current I-Chat Background Check from this school year on file. Visitors without a current I-Chat will not be allowed to enter the building.
Click here to access the form: I-CHAT BACKGROUND CHECK. ALL I-CHAT FORMS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY MONDAY, OCTOBER 28th.
To alleviate congestion in our classrooms, parents should plan to leave all siblings at home.
Parade: The parade will start at 11:00. Students will begin the parade by parading past their schoolmates in the main hallway, gymnasium, and cafetorium. To alleviate congestion, we are asking parents to line up outside along the sidewalk from the playground to the southwest entrance by the cafetorium (old gym). In the event of inclement weather, we will keep everyone inside.
Costumes: Please note the following rules regarding Halloween costumes for students and adults:
- Costumes should be age appropriate
- No blood and gore or excessively scary costumes
- No weapons
Allergies: Please be mindful of food/candy items brought or sent into school. We have numerous students with different types of allergies. Some allergies can be life-threatening, e.g. nut allergies. Please take into account the safety of our students when purchasing food/candy items, and feel free to send in nonfood items as well. Your child's teacher will provide any necessary information about food restrictions.

This new version of the original Screenagers movie addresses issues that elementary school aged kids, parents and educators are facing, i.e., smartwatches in class, unhooking from and monitoring video gaming, social media pressures, exposure too young and what research shows is a healthy amount of screen time.
With many solutions to these and other challenges, Screenagers: Elementary School Age Edition, is an essential watch for all those looking to address and support mental wellbeing in the digital age.
