Next week we will start the week off with a plate tectonics lab, followed by a reading on Tuesday. Wednesday will be all about roots! We will take our roots quiz 1.6 on Wednesday 10/9 because there is no school Thursday or Friday, and will also spend some time studying for the roots summative which will be on Tuesday, 10/15. The summative will include all root words to date. Please help students remember to study over the long weekend! There will be a Blooket links posted to Canvas for students to study.

World Geography
Last Week students submitted their homework formative Monday 9/30. We brainstormed issues and their solutions within our community of DC. For the remainder of the week, students had work time on their end of unit 1 summative called community action letter. By Wednesday 10/8 students will mail their letters out to a DC government official, so please find "bring envelope and postage stamps" in their agenda book due Monday 10/7.
This Week students will complete their final drafts to send out their letters to the government official Wednesday. We will take the entire Wednesday lesson to effectively mail out their letters.

Agenda
Please note: I HIGHLY recommend families purchase personal copies of novels for the year so they can read from home if they are absent or if they have to finish a chapter at home. The novel we are beginning with, that they will need to bring to and from school, is Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred D. Taylor. This novel will begin on 9/9.
