Principal's Message
Greetings Hazelbrook Families,
This week has been busy with OBOB and wrestling competitions! I’m so proud of the hard work students have put into both of these activities. Being connected to an activity is an important way for students to feel valued and have a sense of belonging to the school community. I’m proud of all of the work our staff does to make this happen at Hazelbrook!
A new opportunity for students to engage with staff and each other over HW is after school HW club. This would not be possible if not for the Foundation for Tigard Tualatin Schools. Thank you to those who have supported this generous organization!
For families of 6th graders, I hope you can make it to the outdoor school information night that is happening on February 27th. It will be a great opportunity to learn about the unique learning environments your student will be in and to have your questions answered.
The next day, February 28th, is PSO’s largest school fundraiser at McMenamins in Sherwood. Your support is greatly appreciated. With the help of you and the PSO, we have been able to provide teachers with resources and events for our students. Currently, a group of 8th grade parents and the PSO are planning the big 8th grade celebration that will happen at the end of the year - we can’t wait to celebrate them as they prepare for high school!
As always, thank you for your support and partnership!
Lisa Dailey, Principal

Community Meeting
Hello Hazelbrook Families,
Each week in Community Meetings, students engage in a curriculum called Character Strong. These activities are designed for students to talk and partner in community groups to build social skills, learn about social-emotional skills, and find ways to make a better community. What we see from kids these days is an increased need to learn how to talk and treat others well. Kids have grown numb to hurtful language and treating others badly. We encourage you to talk with your kids about being kind and caring individuals. We teach students at Hazelbrook what it means to be safe, responsible, and kind. We hope that you will share values with them that promote this within your children. We value you, and the partnership we have in helping to educate and raise these kids.
To report an absence, please call the attendance line directly and leave a message at 503-431-5121
News & Updates
Outdoor School Information
Outdoor School is March 14 ~ 17. Students have been assigned to a camp and you should have received paperwork about Outdoor School from your child's science teacher. If you have not seen this, please ask your student about it. You can reach out to your student's science teacher or the school office if you need assistance with getting these documents.
We have a Parent Information Night for Outdoor School coming on February 27th at 5:00pm. We will have someone from the Outdoor School program to present information about Outdoor School and answer your questions for the up coming trip.
Please return all the needed paperwork as soon as possible, and come to the Parent Information Night if you still have questions that need to be answered.
