Message from Principal Jones
Happy Fall, MAS Old Coors Elementary Families! I hope you're enjoying the milder temperatures and getting outside to observe the beautiful changes that come with the season. Below are two importantrequests I have for all MAS families:
1. Behavior Expectations
We need your support in reinforcing classroom and campus expectations at home. Please speak with your child(ren) and remind them of the following non-negotiable behavioral expectations:
- Students must stay in their assigned seat or area at all times.
- Students must ask for permission before leaving their assigned seat or area.
- Students must keep their voices at "volume one" in the classroom and hallways — just slightly louder than a whisper. During "silent solo" time, voices must be completely off as students listen for the teacher’s instructions and use the appropriate volume.
2. Dress Code
Students must follow the uniform policy at all times. This means:
- Students must wear their red MAS tops.
- Students must wear black bottoms.
- Students are not allowed to wear non-MAS apparel, unless they have been awarded a Dress Down Day.

Attendance Contest Update
Our attendance goal is 95%, which means we need an average of 9.5 out of 10 students present each day. I’ve made a change to our Old Coors Elementary Attendance Contest. Each month, every grade level from PreK to 4th grade will compete for the Traveling Attendance Trophy and the chance to wina pizza party. Here’s how it works:
- The grade level with the highest attendance for the month will win the Traveling Attendance Trophy and hold it until another grade earns the right by having a higher attendance percentage.
- The grade level that holds the trophy the most during the trimester will win an end-of-trimester pizza party celebration!
- Our average daily attendance goal is 95%, so please ensure your child is at school on time every day. Good attendance helps students succeed and gives them a chance to win the trophy.
We will also celebrate grade levels that meet their attendance goals at each of our monthly huddles.
