Our Golden Weekly Communication from the Nest
Week of December 9, 2024
Last week I shared about Golden being named an Honor Roll School. Well this week, as you may have read in the Monday Message from Dr Cherniss, Golden was named #53 in the state of California. This is a huge honor as there are 5,865 elementary schools in California, so this puts our scool in the elite 1% for top elementary schools. I have such pride for our dedicated staff and strong community partnerships that make all of this happen. In the end, it is about providing the best education possible to all of our students! I am honored to serve the Golden Community and I thank you for your support and trust!
We have 10 more school days this year! I cannot believe how fast this year is going - it must be that we are all working hard and having fun! Regardless I would like to take this opportunity to remind you all to please make attendance a priority whenever possible. If your child could be in school, they should be in school! The last two weeks will be busy, engaging, academic, and joyous! This is such a special time of the year for all! Let's make it a December to Remember!
I also would love to put in a plug for our Student Council sponsored Sock Drive. All socks will be donated to families in need. We will be collecting socks until December 16th. Thank you for supporting our community!
Finally, Golden Spirit Wear is on sale below! Stock up or buy this year's design. We love seeing our student with their school pride on Fridays!
Let's have a wonderful week!
With honor and appreciation,
Kristin McDonald

A Few Important Reminders
- Golden is a closed campus - that means all parents, visitors, etc. must go through and check in with the office before entering camps. Please do not try to walk through any of our gates in the morning when dropping off your child. If you need to go onto campus, you must check in through the office. This is for your child's safety. THANK YOU!
- As a reminder smart watches and toys are not allowed at Golden. Smart Watches are in the same category as a phone, and must remain off and in your child's backpack; however, we recommend leaving them at home. Toys must also remain in backpacks. They can become distractions in class and they become susceptible to theft. It is best to leave them at home whenever possible.
Attention Sixth Grade Families
Please contact Mrs. McDonald if you would like to inquire about a scholarship for sixth grade camp.
