Growing Together @ STL
October 4, 2024
Leadership Message
And the blessings continue! This week I had the absolute pleasure of celebrating exceptional learning and growing by some of our students as they wrote about their heroes. So many heartfelt stories about how these heroes have impacted the lives of these precious children! It was an honour to hear the stories and celebrate their successes!
Of course we can't launch the weekend without a little laughter!
Why can't Elsa have a balloon?
Because she would just 🎵 "Let it Go! Let it Go!"🎶
Have an amazing weekend and next week!
With continued gratitude,
Mme Gravelle
Principal

Staff Learn & Grow Too!
This Friday staff:
- Explored ways to bring our Faith theme of "Rooted in Christ" to life and how to integrate our Faith into subject areas such as Math, Social and Science.
- Discussed student learning assessments, using them to form our practice as well as inform parents of progress through Evidence of Learning and Progress Reports.
- Played and laughed together - after all, we work hard so we can play hard!
- Collaboratively planned engaging learning experiences.
- Assessed what we have already accomplished on our Assurance Plan and set goals for next steps.
- Loaded onto a school bus and went on a field trip with Counsellor Glen Lawrence who took us on a tour of South Cooking Lake sharing with us its rich history, opportunities and details about it's biosphere. Thank you to our special guests for joining us: EICS Consultant Crystal Cholin, EICS Communication Coordinator Michael DiMassa and Trustee Ted Paszek.
A full fantastic fun day of learning and growing!
Collecting Information to Assess Student Learning
Teachers gather information from three main sources to plan next steps in their teacher, and to also determine when a student achieves a goal or objective. Information gathered from assessments also help students determine where they are on the learning journey. These sources drive the formal assessment tools used to communicate learning to parents through Evidence of Learning and Report Cards.
Laughing Together is Healthy!
