Dear Waukazoo Families,
We hope you had a restful break! We have had a great week getting back to learning at Waukazoo. Next week marks the end of the first semester of the school year, which means we are just about halfway finished! Our students have been working hard to take assessments showing their progress in both reading and math, and will continue these assessments next week. Please encourage them to try their best on these important assessments at school. Following the end of the semester, report cards will be sent home with students after grades are finalized. We encourage you to use grades in your family as a point of conversation about growth and hard work. Grades give us an idea of where we are currently and help us set goals of how we want to grow as learners.
The district has two half days for students next week on Thursday, January 16 and Friday, January 17. In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, there will be no school for students on Monday, January 20.
Some fun events coming up are swimming lessons for all 4th grade students starting January 21, a popcorn Friday towards the end of the month, and Kinder Showcase on Thursday, January 23.
