Introducing NCICU Direct Admission
Introducing NCICU Direct Admission for 26 Colleges and Universities
Twenty-six North Carolina private colleges and universities are offering eligible students more immediate acceptance to their campuses for the 2025-2026 academic year. North Carolina Independent Colleges & Universities (NCICU) recently announced the Direct Admission Program to provide a seamless and swift application process. North Carolina seniors with a weighted GPA of 2.8 or higher can answer a few straightforward questions and then receive information directly from the colleges and universities of their choice, including details about conditional acceptance, specific campus requirements, and available financial aid options.
Go Guardian
Parents,
We also wanted to give you an update that our Go Guardian program is up and running on our student devices at CGS. We are able to monitor what students are viewing, searching for, or engaged in online both during and after school while on their devices. Please remind your student that they should be doing their B.E.S.T. while utilizing CGS school devices and technology. We expect our students to use the devices appropriately as they are a tool to use for instructional purposes.
Parents, we ask that you please monitor your student(s) when they are on their devices. Some tips for this may include; designating a common area work space for your student within your home that is viewable and accessible to you at all times, not allowing students to take their devices into private spaces like bedrooms, closets, behind locked doors, etc. as well as monitoring their activity and reviewing their browsing history on their devices while they are in use.
Thank you for your support at home while we utilize this safety tool at CGS!
Thank you,
Mrs. Vereyken

Lifetouch- Picture Information
Here is the email update that went out to families on 9/19 in case you missed it:
Good morning,
Lifetouch has been able to correct the issue we were having with our families not being able to view/order your student picture day photos! They have corrected the issue on their end and you should've received an email with directions on how to set up your account and then ordering your child's photo now that it's ready will be very easy!
You will need to click on the link that was emailed/text to you from Lifetouch School Photography that included your child's access code in it. Or you can go directly to the website below and type in the access code there.
If you can't find your child's access code, please reach out to our front office or email our info account at info@cgsnc.org and we will get you the code that you need!
Thank you for your patience while we work with Lifetouch and get everything rolling for this school year.
If you have any questions, please let us know.

Parents' Guide to Student Achievement
Parents, as part of a legislative requirement of Senate Bill 49, each year CGS will provide you with information and updates related to various services and departments within our school. This information will provide you with links and resources of updates to our school programming at all student levels.
Feel free to read over the most updated version of the Parents Guide to Student Achievement document and let us know if you have any questions. We will add to this document throughout the school year and updates will be sent out if needed. We will review this document again next summer and will provide you with updates at the beginning of the new school year.
Also, for your reference- here is the most up-to-date CGS Directory for your reference this school year.
Thank you for continuing to work together to ensure your student's overall academic success this school year!
Testing Calendar- 2024-2025
Students preparing for the SAT can access free SAT prep through Khan Academy. Although we don't offer the SAT on campus, this test prep can be beneficial for our 8th/9th graders taking the PSAT and our 11th graders taking the PSAT/NMSQT in October at Clover Garden. It's a great way to expose your students to the question types they may see on the SAT, PSAT 8/9, and PSAT/NMSQT for our 11th graders.
10th graders will be taking the PreACT in October at Clover Garden. Here is a link to ACT.org for free testing practice and tips. 11th-grade students who plan to take the ACT before the spring administration at Clover Garden or those who are getting a jump start on taking the ACT can begin preparing by utilizing the same free resources.
Please contact our District Testing Coordinator, Ms. Ginter at tonyaginter@cgsnc.org for any questions or concerns.
