Students are invited to participate in Senator Murphy’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest. Students from elementary, middle, and high schools from across Connecticut can participate in honoring the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. by submitting essays that reflect on Dr. King’s dream, their own aspirations, and the importance of what Dr. King means to them.
Submissions are open and must be received by Saturday, January 7th at 11:59pm. Essays can be submitted online via the Google Form or mailed to Senator Murphy's Hartford Office.
Essay instructions can be found via this link. Once you click the link, you will need to download the files.

Reminder: Parent/Guardian Feedback Needed!
The NFHS Scheduling Committee is seeking feedback from parents/guardians regarding our daily bell schedule. We are examining our current "A/B Block" schedule and looking into possible changes and other alternatives to be sure our schedule best meets the needs of our students.
If you haven't already, please take this short survey, which will help guide decisions about possible changes moving forward.
Survey will close on Sunday, December 18.
Scholarship Opportunities for Seniors- Updated Weekly!
The scholarship list linked below is updated weekly by the NFHS College and Career Center throughout the school year. We include a variety of mostly local and state as well as some nationally based scholarships. The list will expand after the holidays as we add in local scholarships offered by local civic organizations. There is a brief summary for each scholarship with instructions on how to apply. Applications may be accessed on- line or completed on paper applications provided by local sponsors, and criteria vary based on the sponsor. Individual applications for local (mostly New Fairfield) scholarships will be available in the College and Career Center. Please read the instructions for each scholarship carefully and pay attention to submission dates.
