CAREER CENTER SPOTLIGHT
ASSISTANCE NEEDED
The Lake Orion High School Career Center is creating a database to assist our students as they explore career pathways. If you would be willing to speak to a class about your job, had a unique journey to your career, be open to having a student shadow you at work or participate in a future Career Day, we would love to hear from you! Please send an email to careercenter@lok12.org with your full name, career, place of employment, email address, and phone number. Please also include how you would like to best assist our students. Thank you for joining us in helping LOHS students see a bright future full of career opportunities for themselves!
WORK PERMITS
Work permits are legally required for any student seeking employment. The student AND employer must fill out their portion (in blue or black ink) of the permit BEFORE the school can finalize the application. Work permits are issued based on a student’s age and can be found in the Main Office, Career Center, or on the LOHS website. Work permits are signed by the end of the school day they are submitted for signature. Please plan on at least a four-hour turnaround. Thank you for understanding. Log into x2VOL to find an event, serve with some friends, and enjoy these beautiful spring days!
REMINDER: Senior Water Wars - Started May 5
Over the last several years we have been aware that our seniors participate in a game known as “Water Wars”. If your student is participating, we are hopeful that they have shared this information with you. Please know that this is NOT a school sponsored event. It is not organized, promoted, or supported by Lake Orion High School. Students can NOT participate on school grounds and will be subject to the LOHS Code of Conduct. We understand the game is intended to be good, clean fun; but as always, the safety of our students is our main priority. While this is a non-school activity, played outside of school hours, the message of good decision making and safety is always important.

Attendance Matters
The most important factor in a student’s success in school is simply showing up
To avoid these negative consequences of missing school, parents should set high expectations for regular school attendance with their children at the earliest ages possible. It’s important for parents to know that it is never too late be set a good example. Although frequently absent children will undoubtably be suffering negative impacts, parents can show that attendance is important and establish high expectations for school attendance at any age; the earlier the better!
REMINDER - Important Parking Information
As a reminder, Lake Orion High School is going through a construction period that will change the parking availability for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year.
The lower pool entrance lot will not be available for parking as the construction of the new auxiliary gym is taking place. Additionally, the current student lot will be altered to make room for the community pool parking needs. Additional parking will be available south of the football stadium in the lots marked "D" on the diagram. Please be patient and give yourself an extra 5-10 minutes of time in the morning as we all adjust to this change.
Please refer to the map below for a visual of the changes that went into effect March 24, 2025.
