Wildcat Update

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our students and families, both returning and new, as we gear up for another exciting school year at Frank C. Whiteley.

This first newsletter contains important dates and wonderings regarding the first full week of school. As the date approaches, additional information will be shared regarding arrival and dismissal procedures, lunch schedules, staff updates, transportation and more.

Please also join our PTA membership. For everyone that joins from now until August 31, you will be entered into a raffle to win a prize! Being part of the PTA allows families to have a voice to vote at our general membership meetings. All funds that we raise from membership goes directly back to our Whiteley staff and students. Only registered PTA members can vote on what we do with our funds or on any new programs that we may hold.

Join us at South Ridge Park to mingle with Mrs. Drogos and other families in your grade level! Please see attached flyer for details. Please note that this is not a drop off event and parents will need to supervise their children.

Wildcat Dash

Save the Date!!!! Our Wildcat Dash will be on 9/29. Details to follow. We need all the volunteer help we can get!! Please email whiteleypta@gmail.com if you are interested in helping with this event.

Tuesday, September 3, is Meet the Teacher from 1:45 PM - 2:30 PM. During this time, students in grades K-5 can find their new classrooms, meet their teachers and classmates and drop off supplies. This is also a great time to drop medications for the school nurse as well as any forms to the office.

**Please note, teacher assignments will be available in Infinite Campus on August 19.**

All students in Grades K-5 will have their first day of school on Thursday, September 5. This is a full day of school beginning promptly at 8:25AM and ending at 3:05PM.

As is Whiteley's tradition, students will line up behind their new teacher on the back blacktop for the first day of school.

All students will also dismiss at 2:15PM for early release on Friday, September 6, so please plan accordingly.

We can't wait to see our students!

Parent Orientation will be on Thursday, September 19th. Grades 3-5 will be from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm and Grades K-2 will be from 6:45 pm to 7:15 pm. During this time, your child's classroom teacher will present curriculum and general school information. We kindly ask that you leave your children at home as we unfortunately do not have child care on site.
