Principal's Message
Greetings from Mrs. Starck
It has been a great first week back! We are so proud of how our students are transitioning out of summer. We have been teaching new systems and routines to students this week to help them be successful and they are showing us how great they can be.
PBIS Changes
Over the summer, a group of teachers and administration worked together to revamp our PBIS system to make sure we celebrate students regularly! We want students to Be Kind, Safe, Respectful, and Responsible throughout the day. Yesterday, in Flex class, all students learned about our new incentives and rewards. I have linked the slide show here, if you are interested.
Arrival and DIsmissal
I would like to remind families that the school doors do not open until 8:00 am and school staff are not contracted to be on site until 7:45. If you are bringing your student before that time, they will be unsupervised until staff arrives to work. School ends at 3:05. Walkers and students with wheels should be off campus by 3:15. Students who are being picked up need to out front until their ride arrives. Bus riders will remain in the Commons until the their bus arrives.
Entry Procedures
We have implemented new entry procedures this year to help our students have a positive start to the school day. Once we open the doors all students who want to eat breakfast, may do so. All other students are headed straight to Advisory class.
Nutrition Break
We are excited to announce that we now have a nutrition break every day from 9:25-9:35. Any student who missed breakfast due to late arrival, or any student who isn't hungry first thing in the morning, may come to the cafeteria and eat breakfast at that time. We are so thankful to our Nutrition Services Staff for supporting our students in this way!
Logger Lunes
Your student should have come home with a shirt after their first day of school. Students who show their support of our community by wearing their shirts on Mondays (Lunes) will earn a treat at lunch. 6th grade shirts are green, 7th grade shirts are gray, 8th grade shirts are black. We picked up several that were dropped over the last two days so if your student didn't come home with one, have them check the lost and found.
We are looking forward to a really great year this year!
Sincerely,
Brandi Starck
Principal
