Dear Woodland Families

As we step into the vibrant month of October, we can't help but express our sincere gratitude for the fantastic start we've had to the school year. September was a busy month where our scholars were learning about their new classroom community, making new friends, practicing rituals and routines, learning about being a Woodland SOAR leader, and so much more. It was so wonderful to see the smiling faces, hear the joyful noises, and engaged learners fill our classrooms and hallways. We are so proud of our scholars for their engagement and achievements thus far.

Parents, thank you for your unwavering support, active involvement, and genuine partnership. Together, our collaboration sets the stage for a truly enriching educational journey for our students.

As we move forward, October holds an essential event that plays a significant role in shaping your child's educational path, Parent-Teacher Conferences. This invaluable opportunity allows you to connect with your child's teachers, gain insights into their progress, and discuss strategies for their continued success. You will be able to sign up for fall conferences starting on October 21st, 2024. More detailed information about how to sign up for conferences on ParentVue will be coming soon.

Our PTO remains a very active partner by connecting our students, families, and community. We had a great time at the Woody Food Truck event in September. Our PTO is teaming up with local businesses and sponsors to provide a Woodland t-shirt to every student and staff member in the building! Students will receive the shirt the day of the Fun Run and will wear them on October 4th during the Fun Run. Please have them wear something that they can put the t-shirt over. Finally, we like to send some important reminders for all families so that we can have a safe, successful school year where all scholars can thrive.

• Our school hours are 9:30am to 4:00pm. It is so critical for our students to arrive on time so that they are not missing out on any important social, emotional or academic learning.

• Please do NOT drop off your students before 9:15 am. There is no adult supervision before that time.

• If you need to change your child’s transportation for the day, please contact the school by 3:00 pm.

• Due to the nutrition policy of our district, and the wellbeing of all of our scholars, fast food items such as McDonalds & Chik- fil-A are not permitted in our cafeteria. If you would like to have a special lunch with your child, please contact the office and we will set up an office space for you and your child during their lunch time.

• All students will go outside for recess everyday unless it is raining or there is extremely cold weather. As the weather starts to get colder, please send along appropriate warm clothing including mittens, hats, jackets, snow pants and boots. Please put your child’s name on all clothing.
