This week was Teacher and Staff Appreciation week and what a week it has been! Teachers and staff were treated to daily goodies in the teacher's lounge related to a color of the day! And on Thursday, they were invited to enjoy a delicious cookout lunch. Many thanks to the Omro PTO and all the families who donated items for the staff each day. Thank you so much to everyone who pitched in to help make our teachers and staff feel appreciated for all they do each and every day!

Each month a student in the senior class is chosen to be the OHS Student of the month. The student is selected based on scholarship, citizenship, leadership, and co-curricular activities. The March Student of the Month is Faith! Congratulations!

Each year, Fox 11 honors the top students in their viewing area which includes five Omro students as part of their “Best of the Class”. This year they will also be spotlighting a student from several of the schools they honor. Faith has been selected to represent Omro High School for this 2024 spotlight interview. Way to go, Faith!

Congratulations go out to the following students and staff member for being chosen as this week's Fox Friday winners! Thank you for demonstrating characteristics of the Fox Four and for being such great role models!!

Congratulations to OHS student Keefer as he was awarded Eagle Scout at his Court of Honor ceremony on Sunday, April 28, 2024. The Eagle Scout award is the highest and most prestigious award a scout can attain. To attain the Eagle rank, a Scout must earn at least 21 merit badges, fulfill leadership roles and display outdoor skills, demonstrate by example the Scout Oath and Law, and complete a comprehensive service project in the community. He has been involved in scouting for the last 11 years! Way to go, Keefer, we are proud of all you have accomplished!

Junior Prom 2024 was held on Saturday, May 4 at the Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel in Oshkosh. The theme that was chosen was The Roaring 20's and this year's prom court consisted of Shayli, Brooklyn, Delia, Mae, Makenna, Josie and Queen Bailey, as well as Parker, Devin, Gavin, Mason H, Wyatt, Gage and King Mason G!

At the end of February, Liam, Kayannah, and Sadie represented Omro High School in the Final State Test for Battle of the Books. They placed 18th out of 61 teams in the state! Congratulations!!

Students participating in Mrs. Miller's Fox Time went out to spruce up the main entrance of the high school last week with their chalk drawings!

Omro student, McKenzie has found a passion for our feathered friends in her work with On the Wing raptor rehabilitation facility. She has been a volunteer with On The Wing for several months now and is proud of what she is doing to help rehabilitate and educate others! Thank you for helping connect these amazing animals with our local communities!

Are you wondering what to do with your old yearbooks that are just collecting dust in your attic or basement? Please consider donating them to the Middle School/ High School Media Center! We are specifically looking for older yearbooks from the 1940's-1970's to complete our collection, but would be happy to take in any you would be willing to part with. We have some gaps in years we'd like to fill. Feel free to drop off those old yearbooks in the office!

Attendance matters and SO DO YOU!! Missing just two days a MONTH can add up to losing an entire year of school by graduation. Be an Attendance H.E.R.O! Here Everyday, Ready, On time!!

Students MUST be CALLED IN EVERY DAY that they are absent, unless they have a pre-arranged absence form filled out. Please call the attendance line and leave a message so we are aware that your student will not be in school. If the absence is illness related, please also note any symptoms they are having. Appointments may also be left on the attendance line. Students who are active in sports must be called in 24 hours in advance to be able to participate in practice on the day of their appointments. A parent can access the the work permit site using these instructions. Payment is made directly to the department through the application, using a credit or debit card or by ACH direct withdrawal. Once the permit application process is complete, the Department mails a paper copy of the permit directly to the employer. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact by email at workpermits@dwd.wisconsin.gov.

Students, are you looking for a summer job? Come work for us at the school!! Job duties are custodial, maintenance and grounds. Pay is $13.50/hr. up to 40 hours per week (flexible) starting June 10th (flexible on start date) through mid-August.

Must be at least 16 years old. Pick up an application in the office! Dead line for applications is April 30, 2024.

An elderly Omro couple is looking for a high school student to take care of their lawn this summer. The couple lives on Rivermoor Road and would need the HS student to bring their own lawn mower and weed wacker to their property. If interested in learning more about this summer job, please contact Ms. Williams (rwill@omro.k12.wi.us) in the guidance office.

Each year in Winnebago County a female is selected as a year-long ambassador for “rural” Winnebago. This year we are crowning our 56th Miss Rural Winnebago and I would love your help and support in spreading this opportunity across the county!

This position is open to:

• A person interested in attending local events to learn about and promote the “rural life” of Winnebago County.

• Females ages 13-17 years.

• Resides in or attends school in Winnebago County, WI.

• No agricultural background or related experiences are required.

• A person willing to volunteer a year of service as MRW.

Miss Rural Winnebago is not a pageant program, and the election process includes a formal interview with two judges on June 8th. The elected Miss will have the opportunity to develop interpersonal skills and professional connections that will go beyond her year of service. 2024 MRW applications are due May 31st.

Well Badger Resource Center is an information and referral (I&R) service for Wisconsin individuals and families. Information and referral services create and maintain databases of programs and services, and then make sure, through a variety of channels and outreach, that you and others in your community know about those services.

The Navigator is a free, confidential, online tool designed to help parents, caregivers, and professionals navigate mental and behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and young adults under the age of 21! Just answer a few questions about the child, and the Navigator provides a customized guide to connect the child with the resources and support they both need and deserve.
