Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you are all having a wonderful summer and enjoying some well-deserved rest and relaxation. We are excited to welcome our students back to school and are eagerly preparing for their return. Our teachers have been busy with training, curriculum work, and more to ensure that we provide the best possible educational experience for your children.
We are excited to welcome our new 5th-grade students and are holding a 5th-grade orientation on July 30th from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. From 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, students will meet their teachers and learn what it means to be a General through mini classes. Families may then join us for an outdoor cookout from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The DMIS Back to School Open House will be on August 8th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Our families will be able to pick up schedules, meet their teachers, and more. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I wanted to remind you that all annual notifications must be completed in PowerSchool this year. If you need assistance logging in to complete these documents, please do not hesitate to contact the school. Your cooperation in completing these notifications is greatly appreciated as it helps us ensure that we have the most current information for your student. Additionally, please take a moment to review the WPS Parent & Student Handbook to familiarize yourself with important policies and procedures for the school year.
I also want to address the scheduling for the upcoming school year. Currently, schedules are not yet ready in PowerSchool, and changes will continue to be made over the next few weeks. Finalized schedules will be sent home by the first week of August, and will be available for pick up at our 5th Grade Orientation and Open House events. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure that every student has the best possible schedule.
