Hump Day Happenings
Issue 23 ~ 2/7 thru 2/13
The celebration continues! THANK YOU! 🎉✨
Kilgour Faculty/Staff, Students, Parents & School Community:
Thank you so much for your hard work and for making our 2024 Boosterthon program a SUCCESS!
Now that the Kilgour Glow Run is over, we’ve calculated that Kilgour has a PLEDGED PROFIT of $41,461! Of course, we still have to confirm all of those donations collected, but our goal was not only reached... surpassed...but doubled!
Our School Leadership team, on behalf of faculty/staff and students, THANK YOU!
The team will review our school needs and data, and confirm allocation for the funds raised. Once confirmed, we will share out with the larger community where the funds will go to support the 2024-2025 school year!
Our students have not only earned their Extra recess but also there are rumors of fun shenanigans happening to Coach T (Taylor) and even Principal Cook Frazier being turned into a "human sundae".
(Due to Coach T and Principal Cook Frazier being out ill this week. Extra recess and other student incentives are being scheduled for the near future).

Lottery Application for 7th Grade Placement - Deadline Approaching
Sixth Grade Parents and Guardians:
Reminder to complete the CPS High School Lottery process (grades 7-12 are considered high school). The deadline is Friday, March 1, 2024. If you do not complete the application your student will be randomly placed at any school based on remaining availability. If you are attending a private school or moving out of the district, we ask that you still complete the application anyway as plans may change. This will help ensure we have a handle on all students' plans.
Parents and guardians will create an account on FOCUS. You will use your student's ID number. The application can be found here: https://focus.cps-k12.org/focus/auth/. Once signed in, you will be asked to confirm basic information such as name and address. Then, there will be three drop down boxes for you to select up to three school preferences. It should take approximately 5 minutes to complete.
Schools that require specific tests or auditions will not appear as a drop down option (Walnut, SCPA, etc.) . If you have received confirmation of enrollment AND attended registration at Walnut, you do not need to complete the application. If you are still waiting for test scores or audition results, plan to fill out the application with your 2nd, 3rd, etc choices to better your chances of attending a school of your preference. CPS will begin sending out placement letters around May 1st.
We kindly ask that you complete this Google Form to help us keep track of where you are in the application process.
Additional information can be found here: https://www.cps-k12.org/lottery.
Questions should be directed to the CPS Customer Care Center at 513-363-0123 or CPSHelp@cpsboe.k12.oh.us

They Got Game... The Weekend Rundown for our Kilgour Ballers 🏀
Can you believe that the Mighty Mustangs basketball players are down to the final month or so of their hoop seasons? Good news for you, there's still time to catch some games. Come out this weekend to show your support! Games @ Kilgour will start at 9a with the final tip at 5p on Saturday, 2/10. Action on Sunday gets underway at 12p with the final tip happening at 3p. Come early, stay late, cheer loud!
PONY LEAGUE THIS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9TH!!
Pony League will consist of two (1) hour sessions on Friday evenings in the Kilgour Gym from 5:00-7:00pm. The first hour will be for the girls and second hour for the boys. There will be no other weekday practices or weekend games. The sessions started January 5th and will run through Feb 23rd. The sessions will not be held on days where kids do not have classes.
Parent support is required for the success of the program. We need volunteer coaches. Advanced preparation is not required as we already have a successful format – you only need to show up and help for one hour. Coaching & basketball experience are also not required but helpful.
Should you have any questions, please send email to Andrew Derksen @ arderksen@gmail.com.
Note: Our Basketball Coordinator, Andrew Derksen is working through the logistics of a makeup date for the cancellation due to the snow day on 1/19. Details will be shared with families when they are confirmed.
