School Safety Updates
- Please be sure you are dropping students off in the front circle drive for morning arrivals. Please do not drop any students off in the bus lane on the side of our building.
- Please ensure when you are picking your students up at dismissal that you are pulled up all the way to the curb. This will ensure your student is not crossing through traffic to get to their vehicle. Be sure you use the crosswalk to avoid getting hit by passing vehicles.

LATE ARRIVALS AND EARLY PICK UPS
Every Minute Matters
Families,
Student attendance, including tardiness and early departures, can significantly impact our students' educational journey and future success. When students arrive late or leave early, they miss out on:
- valuable learning opportunities
- a nutritious breakfast
- morning social-emotional circle time
- important announcements
- academic activities
- and social interactions with their peers
For example, if a student leaves 30 minutes early each day, they are missing out on 2.5 hours of instruction per week and 10 hours of instruction each month. Every minute of the school day is crucial, and we want to ensure our students make the most of their time in the classroom.
School attendance provides an engaging environment where students can build meaningful relationships, develop a sense of community, and discover their purpose. As the principal, I will be reaching out to families that need support with this. I will be requesting attendance meetings to address any barriers you may be experiencing and provide support.
If you have any questions or need assistance with attendance, please don't hesitate to reach out. We are here to work together and ensure your child's educational success.
Best regards,
Meaghan O. Timmons

Mobile Health and Dental Clinic
To assist our families, we have arranged for the mobile Health and Dental Clinics to visit our school. They will provide services such as dental cleanings, immunizations, and well-child check-ups right here at school. If you are interested in utilizing this service, please sign up as soon as possible. This will help us demonstrate to the Family Health Center that there is a demand for their services at our school. Below is the sign-up link, which, although it mentions 2023, uses the same form. Thank you, and if you have any questions, please feel free to email Ms. Katrina White at whiteka@kalamazoopublicschools.net.
