DRAGON PRIDE ROCKS
Hispanic Heritage Festival
The 2023 Hispanic Heritage Month event was organized by our amazing student Dragons and our school counselor, Ms. Thibault. Every morning students showed they are strong Communicators by sharing Hispanic historical facts, current events, "I'm proud to be a Latina/Latino" statements from staff & students, and our morning and afternoon announcements were read in both English & Spanish. Hispanic Heritage Month ended in true Dragon form with an amazing day of celebrations. After a day of performances, our International Dragons shared una cena con arroz con gandules, pollo, y pastellios hecho a mano. Everyone also learned some great moves with salsa lessons from dance instructor Rey Bermudez. ¡Bien hecho Dragones! ¡Bien hecho!
Did you notice these?
These fantásticas obras de arte were showcased during our Hispanic Heritage Festival. Mrs. Groenstein's 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Art classes contributed to our Hispanic Heritage Month by creating art similar to those of Pablo Picasso and Jean Michael Basquiat who were both of Latin decent. Take a look at their work below!
Sophomores Visit University of New Haven
10th grade students enjoyed a fall day on a college campus! Students were in awe of the beautiful campus and were overheard saying “I can really see myself going here”, “I like that it isn’t too far away from home”, and “I’m definitely going to apply here when I’m a senior”! We have a great partnership with UNH and look forward to move visits and acceptances over the coming years!
6th Grade Science - Let's Investigate!
Mrs. Lattanzio's classes investigated the many wonders of light. Students were INQUIRERS by experimenting with light, bubbles, and glow-in-the-dark shaving cream! Ask your 6th grader for the results!
9th Grade Algebra I students are KNOWLEDGEABLE!
Algebra I students in Ms. Amirshekari's class are learning and showing their knowledge using different types of algebraic equations. Math experts in the making!

MS Sports
The Middle School Athletes are preparing for playoffs that will take place this week.
MS Sports is all about risk-taking as for most this is the first time they are playing an intermural sport. We are so amazed at their determination to learn, their openness to learn new things and how they are learning to balance sports and academics.
Wish them luck!
High School Girls' Soccer is off to Sates!
The defending CRAL Champions is off to CRAL and State Playoffs! The girls continued their winning streak on Wednesday, October 25th in front of a sideline filled with friends and family. This game was also extra special as they recognized Breast Cancer Survivors and our 2023 AAE/AIS Seniors. The coaches got in on the fun as they sported the famous hairdo the team made for them!
HS Volleyball Senior Night
On a fall afternoon, the Lady Dragons celebrated their class of 2023 seniors and also recognized those from their opposing team Amistad High School. With a gym filled with fans the Lady Dragons secured their spot in playoffs with a win.
