Lamkin Lines

From The Principal
Dear Lamkin Families,
October was a very busy month at Lamkin with loads of learning and fun. Our Lamkin PTO sponsored a Fall Festival and it was a tremendous success! We enjoyed seeing all the smiles and hearing the laughs. Focusing on college and career week was a great way for students to learn about options for career and college after completing high school. We observed red ribbon week and students learned ways to remain drug free and stay a “Healthy ME!” Ninety CFHS football players and cheerleaders came to read to our classes. This was an excellent way for our schools to connect.
November brings a focus of togetherness and Thanksgiving. Please see the November events that will happen at Lamkin:
- November 3rd- Our students will participate in ADVENTURE DASH and raise funds for Lamkin. The weather looks cooler, and our students will have a great time. (This is a kid only event.)
- November 6th and 7th- These days are student holidays. November 7th is election day and this year, there are four CFISD Board of Trustee positions to vote for. Please see CFISD’s website-www/cfisd.net to learn more about the candidates and to watch a pre-recorded candidate forum to hear how each candidate plans to lead on CFISD’s school board.
- November 10th- Lamkin will honor veterans during a VETERANS DAY program. (Details are included in this newsletter and were sent home on 10/27 in student folders.)
- November 13-17- Our library will host our annual BOOK FAIR. Students will be permitted to shop during the school day and on Tuesday, November 14th, Lamkin will host a “Milk and Cookies” night from 5:30-7:00pm. Families are encouraged to wear pajamas, enjoy milk and cookies and shop at the book fair. This is an annual family favorite!
- November 17th is GRANDPARENTS DAY! Please see the details included in this newsletter with program times and parking information.
During the month of November, CFISD will focus on the character trait of GENEROSITY. Lamkin will also focus on the Capturing Kids’ Hearts character trait: better together- TEAMWORK.
CFISD and Lamkin both have a goal of 95% or greater student attendance each day. Your student misses out when they are absent. If your student is healthy, please ensure that he/she is at school on time each day.
Lamkin wishes you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving and time spent with family and friends. We are grateful for your partnership and support of Lamkin Elementary. Please reach out if we can help answer any questions.
