Principal's Message
Welcome Back!
We hope that you have had some time to rest and relax with family over the break.
Whenever our students return from a break, our Westwood staff always take time to go back over our expectations for students. When we take time to remind our students about what it means to be RESPECTFUL 🤝, RESPONSIBLE 👏, and SAFE 👷, we are also reinforcing the high expectations that we have for our students' behavior. Regardless of grade or age, all students need reminders on what it means to meet our high expectations for behavior in school.
This also applies at home! 🏡
If you find yourself at home saying, "They should know this by now!"... then you are in good company! As with any skill, behavior needs to be practiced. Take time to go over what you expect from your students at home, and reinforce those expectations by acknowledging when students meet your expectations (verbal acknowledgement and rewards are good examples) or providing consistent discipline when students are not meeting your expectations.
Thank you for supporting OUR student(s). Together, we can help to guide our students into being successful citizens in the world.

Picking Up and Dropping Off Students
As a safety reminder, when picking up or dropping off your student, please use our drop-off loop (the staff parking lot is not for student drop-off) and pull as far forward as possible when in line with your vehicle. This supports a smooth drop-off and pick-up process.
🚗 Parents should stay in their vehicles and pull up to the student drop-off zone during this time. Please do not leave a vehicle unattended in the drop-off loop at any time. If you need help, wave down a staff member and we will be happy to assist you. Thank you for doing your part to keep our students safe.
Additionally, please be sure that your students have the proper car seats, booster seats, or seatbelts as required by California State Law. Let us know if you need help or resources to keep your student safe. 💺✅
