Fall Fest 2024 is in the books!!

Wow!

The weather did not cooperate Friday, but our community did not let that spoil the fun! Thank you to everyone who came out for a fun indoor version of Fall Fest at the wellness center. No event is possible without countless volunteers, donations, and extra sets of hands at the last minute (and at clean up) to make it run smoothly. A great time was had by all and I appreciate YOU!!! Who can save the village from the Stone Dragon?

Come out to the Community Learning Center and follow the story of a small village that is being plagued by the terrifying Stone Dragon! Will the villagers' quest to find the bravest knights in the land end in success or tragedy? Or is the world's greatest chef the only one who can save the village? The performance of this elementary play is on Friday, October 18th at 5:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased online for $2 /student and $5 /adult (plus fees) or at the door for $4 /student and $7 /adult. Teacher goody baskets

It is not October yet, but we are already making plans to provide nourishing goody baskets for our faculty during parent teacher conferences in late October. If you would like to contribute snacks for the baskets, please sign up here. Please drop off your donations to the Victorian Farmhouse office anytime before Friday, October 18th. Baskets will be assembled and delivered on Tuesday, October 22nd. Please reach out to Kim Davidson or Kelly Elias with any questions. Thank you!

Totally Terrific Task Tuesday!

Are you looking to volunteer within the OFMS community. Come meet other parents and grandparents in the Victorian Farmhouse basement this Tuesday from 8:30 - 11:30am to work on classroom needs: laminating, cutting, sorting, copying. We love everyone's help! No need to sign up, come for 30 minutes come for 3 hours.

Students making a difference!

Attention students in grades 6-12! Our Mayoral Youth Advisory Committee (MYAC) kick-off meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 2nd at 6pm at the Kendallville City Hall. Students from all area schools (including home schooled) who are interested in government, leadership, and philanthropy are welcome to join.

Oak Farm Montessori currently has several students serving on the committee, but we would love to have more!

Carpool Opportunity

We have a new to OFMHS family that is hoping to connect with you! They live near PFW and would love to help get your child(ren) to school in the morning in exchange for helping to get their freshman home in the afternoon. If you are interested, please reach out to Kerry at kghent72@gmail.com

Have raincoat, will travel!

A little rain doesn't deter students from going outside at Oak Farm Montessori School. In fact, some might say it makes it a lot more fun! Wet, rainy conditions provide a different outdoor classroom for the students to explore. Conditions have been perfect for one of our Lower Elementary Adventure classes to find frogs, and even an Eastern red backed salamander, in the woods.

Mud will wash off, but the memory of holding a wriggly, slimy, lungless salamander and learning about their habitat will last a lifetime.
