We Made It! WOOHOO!
As we all are going through so many emotions in the face of a pandemic, some have lost loved ones, some have had others come close, some have had family get ill and others themselves get ill, and some have not had any illness...it is hard to see what is important. If you are wondering what the most important thread in all of this is relationships. Relationships are everything.
Relationships are everything.
Everything that we do involves relationships. Relationships are defined as the way in which two or more concepts, objects, or people are connected, or the state of being connected. About 7 years ago our faculty came together to form our motto here in the Husky Nation as Partners United in Learning and Life (PULL) and this year we have indeed Pulled Together!
It has taken all of us focusing on the child in the center of our decisions, making sure that we keep that the focus and then adjust our adult minds to help pull our kiddos through this with relationships remaining together. Is has NOT been easy for anyone!
We here are so appreciative of the grace and mercy that you have shown us as we have worked through the Learning Pit of this pandemic and what it has done to the people of education. We have pulled together!
Our New Year will begin with us welcoming several students to the building who have been in Iron Line and we have a plan to help all of our relationships by focussing on the Learner Qualities here at Holt. Being an Adventurer, a Collaborator, a Neighbor, a Self-Manager and a Thinker are important as we finish the year together. We will help define these in advisory and then begin the 6th Grade Joe Holt Award winner selection process which this year includes a Legacy Project in which the winner will have $500 to carry out a project that will make a difference to the Husky Nation.
But now, please relax, PUT THE CHROMEBOOKS AWAY, and recharge over the holiday break. It is an honor to serve you and your child here at Holt.
