Thankful for Our Panther Community!
November 2024 Newsletter
1st quarter finished already?!
Not only is it already November, we just wrapped up the first quarter of the school year! October was jam packed full of activities and November is shaping up to be just as busy. Fall sports are winding down, and basketball is gearing up. We look forward to packed gyms at home games and lots of student involvement this season.
As the Principal, I am so very proud of all our Panthers and how much they give back to the school and community. Our staff and students planned a successful BooFest event; more than 300 visitors came through our doors to experience fun and safe Halloween activities and of course, load up on candy! Even better, all of our students were involved in the planning and more than 50 of our students were on hand to run the games and activities. Students have helped out with the White Pass Food Bank, school cleanup activities, tutoring, and helping at games and in classes.
We are about to start the second round of Club Wednesdays; during the Advisory/Core/Flex time once a week, students can participate in a variety of clubs and activities during the school day. These clubs change every few weeks, and we love to see all the fun kids are having with things like Chess Club, Weight Lifting Club, Panthers for Seniors, and more! Students just finished elections for their class officers, and we'll be working with officers and ASB to learn all about ASB meetings and fundraising procedures.
White Pass is proud to host the annual Veterans Day Assembly on Friday, November 8. We invite anyone from our community to attend, and we would love to honor the veterans in our community at that event. Please join us for light refreshments starting at noon with the assembly starting at 12:30. We also will be doing the popular "Turkey Day Lunch" on Monday, November 25. Families are invited to have lunch with their student that day; watch for more details soon.
Our students have to earn a number of community service hours as part of their graduation requirements; we're always looking for volunteer opportunities for our students. If you are in need of volunteer assistance, let our front office know and we'll get the word out to students.
White Pass is a special place to be, and I am truly thankful every single day that I get to work with students and staff who are so talented, kind and fun!
