Message from Principal Willie Wimbrey
I am writing to you my final News from the Nest (Parent News Letter) for this school year 2023-2024, and I am feeling all the emotions of closing another school year and closing my career. I also am experiencng the emotions for students, staff, and parents who are closing out their time at Perry. It feels really good knowing we're all in this together and we are supporting and celebrating each other all the way through. Our Perry community is truly amazing! I look forward to experiencing the month of May 2024 with you all.

FAST PASSES for Field Day, End of Year Parties, and End of Year Awards
We have 3 big events coming up for the end of the year:
- Field Day - Friday 5/17
- End of Year Parties - 5/20
- End of Year Awards :
- Pre K and Kinder - Tuesday 5/21
- 1st, 2nd, and Mrs. Johns - Wednesday 5/22
- 3rd and 4th Grades - Thursday 5/23
Please fill out this form if you are planning on attending any of the End of Year Events. This form will expire at midnight on Wednesday, May 15th.
MISD requires everyone who attends a campus event to complete and pass a background check prior to attending. Background checks can take up to a week to be approved.
You must be atleast 21 years old or 4 years old and younger (cannot be school aged.) However, 4 years old and younger kids are not permitted to the End of Year Parties.
If we do not have a copy of your driver's license saved in Raptor we will need you to stop into the office so we can scan your driver's license and print you a sticker.
If you have multiple students you will need to fill this form out for each student.
Teacher Appreciation Week 5/6-5/10
Field Day - Friday 5/17
All visitors MUST check in at our office. This means you cannot go directly to field day events.
You must wear a visitors sticker from our office to attend field day.
Only our Perry students PK-4th grade can participate in Perry Field Day -- no other school aged children are permitted to attend field day. Children who are not school age yet may visit as spectators secured by parents, but may not sit, crawl, walk, run, play around our field day games not our playground. All visitors must be spectators only.
Shirt Orders Reminder:
There is only ONE WEEK LEFT to get you and/or your student(s) a field day shirt! Get yours while you can. We have already sold over 220 shirts for the big day. Thank you for being the best parents in the universe!

End of Year Parties - Monday 5/20
Select this link to sign up as a volunteer at one of the EOY Parties.
We need some volunteers at each party. Please sign up to volunteer at a party before or after your child's party. That way, you can still attend your own child's party and play with your child. You can volunteer at 1 or more parties. All parties will be in the gym and are funded by our fabulous PTA.
End of Year Awards Schedule
All guests are welcome. You must check-in at the front office. You do not need a background check to attend the awards ceremonies. Please come early to beat the vehicle and people traffic.

Morning Car-Rider Drop-off Duty (Dads Club)
Our Dads Club invites all father-figures to sign-up and volunteer to help our CAMP teachers with Car-Rider Drop-Off duties which is helping direct traffic, unload students from cars, make sure students walk towards the correct doors of the building entrance, and direct cars when to drive away. Parent Volunteers for Lunch and Recess Duties
Did you know that you can volunteer for lunch and/or recess duty for your kid's lunch and recess? Yes, you certainly can, and we'd love to have you volunteer. There will always be a teacher present to lead the way. If you can volunteer, please select one or both of the links below to sign up.

Bond 2024 FAQ – Why were Multi-Purpose Athletic Buildings Not Completed with 2017 Bond Funds?

The Department of Family & Community Engagement will host a Resources, Tips & Tools workshop for MISD families Tuesday, May 7th 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. FREE summer workbooks will be distributed to all families who register and attend the event.
