Mrs. Karen Decort - Nurse
Mrs. Decort: A 'good day' at school, for me, is when every student feels supported, safe, and able to focus on their learning. It means that I can help students feel better, whether it’s addressing a small scrape or providing support for a bigger concern, that allows them to get them back to learning. When the day ends and I know I’ve made a positive impact on someone's health or well-being, that’s what makes it a good day.
If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share?
Mrs. Decort: If I could pass on any wisdom to the students, it would be to always listen to your body and take care of your health—physically and mentally. You are your own best advocate, so if something doesn’t feel right, speak up and seek help. Also, don’t forget the power of kindness, both to others and to yourself. Your well-being is just as important as your studies, and taking care of both will help you thrive.
How do you spend your time away from school?
Mrs. Decort: Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, staying active, and finding ways to relax and recharge. I like to stay involved in activities that help me stay healthy—whether it’s going for walks, going to my kids’ sporting events, or gardening. I also enjoy learning more about health and wellness, which helps me bring fresh ideas back to the school. It's important to maintain a balance so I can be the best support for the students while also taking care of myself.

Wasco Parking Lot Guide 24-25
The map below displays how Wasco organizes dismissal for car riders. We will be directing students to wait on our “front lawn” for their ride. If they see their families' vehicles, they can walk along the sidewalk and enter the stopped vehicle. If you would like to leave your car to pick up your child, you are free to park in the lot.
You can save this as a handy reference for your caregivers or visiting family members who do pick up as well!
