TVMS News
September 8, 2023
Greetings TVMS community,
We had a wonderful second week of school and enjoyed seeing so many families visit our school’s Back to School Night on Thursday! We are looking forward to partnering with you this school year to make it a great year for all of our students.
Please remind your child that cell phones and AirPods (earphones) must be turned off and away during the school day. Most of our students have done a wonderful job keeping their devices away, but 8th graders seem to be struggling with this the most during lunch and recess. If it is an emergency and you need to reach your child, please call the front office at 410-313-8711.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Mrs. Denise Young
Principal

FAMILY FILE UPDATE
Currently only 51% of our families have updated their family file for this school year. It is mandatory that all parents/ guardians verify and/ or update emergency information for each child each school year. Updating this information provides us with the most current emergency contact information, and also ensures that you are receiving important information and updates for HCPSS and TVMS. If you have not updated your Family File this school year, please take some time this weekend to do so.
Log in to HCPSS Connect, select the More Options tab on the left and then select Family File in the center column. Please call the front office if you need support.
Student Lockers
GT Seminars
G/T Seminars are open to all students at Thomas Viaduct Middle School. We have seminars such as African American History, Book Club, Debate, Math/Logic, Photography, Television Production, and Writer's Workshop. These seminars occur during the school day and you (the student) would be pulled out of one of your classes to attend the seminar. It is expected that you make up whatever you miss from that class as we do not want the seminar to negatively impact your learning. You must always inform your teacher that you have a seminar and it is the teacher's decision if you are able to miss class that day. If there is a quiz/test, you must stay in class. Students are responsible for making up any work they miss in class due to attending the GT seminar.
