Tribute to Our Assistant Principals
In honor of Assistant Principal Appreciation Week
Behind every great school is a team of dedicated leaders—and our assistant principals are the heart of that team. You are the steady hands, the listening ears, the problem solvers, and the peacemakers. You lead with compassion, guide with integrity, and uplift everyone around you—students, staff, and families alike.
From early mornings to late nights, from student success to campus safety, your commitment never goes unnoticed. You juggle it all with grace and grit. You are mentors, advocates, and quiet heroes who make a difference in countless lives each and every day.
This week—and every week—we thank you.
For your leadership.
For your heart.
For serving our students, staff, and families every day.
Happy Assistant Principal Appreciation Week!
Key Club Visits The Gloucester County Animal Shelter
The Key Club went to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter last Friday. Participating members helped walk the shelter dogs and play with the shelter’s cats. We also prepared enrichment activities for the dogs using peanut butter and Frisbees.

Baking Collaboration With Bankbridge Elementary
Thank You Message:
I just wanted to thank you for arranging our bakery day at GCIT. The freshman students were all ready to teach my students how to make sugar cookies. There were 2 freshmen assigned to one student. They were so kind to my students and spoke to them for the entire 45-minute period. It was heartwarming to see the interaction between schools. Chef Hassan and her students should be commended for an excellent job!

Updates From School Based Youth Services
School-Based Youth Services had a great time at Dave & Buster's in Blackwood this week. The students did a great job competing against the staff for various prizes and just some laughs. The students were super respectful and very polite to the staff at D&B's, who were absolutely fantastic.
School Based still has some availability for our Advisory Dinner on April 15. The event will run from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We eat, laugh, and talk, so please contact me at jjacob@gcecnj.org if you would like to attend.
- We will be putting out the applications for Red Shirts next week. Please listen for the announcements and we encourage all those interested in applying.
- We will also be taking selected students to Rowan University on April 29, during the school day, to listen to a presentation about athletes and opioids.
- May is Mental Health Awareness month, and we will be supporting that throughout the month with various presentations and giveaways.
- On May 9th we will be attending a trip to Washington DC. We have already contacted those that will be attending, and if one of the students cannot attend, we will be going to our waitlist.
- On May 15th , we will attend Pride at the Zoo at the Cape May Zoo and support the LGBTQIA+ community. The permission slip will come out after we return from break.
- On May 27th , we will be heading to Glisten in Berlin for a nice mental health and outdoor exercise day. This is usually reserved as a reward for our Red Shirts, but we may open it up to the students as well. ]
- On June 11th, we will be attending the Phillies game!
And a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to, now, Doctor Girard! Congratulations on defending your dissertation!
Thank you for supporting School Based Youth Services and if you need anything please reach out to Ms. Glazer, Mrs. Hasko, Mr. Ruiz or myself. Have a great day.

News From FBLA
FBLA members Sloane Golembiewski and Reyna Wicken taught mobile phone features and online security to the residents at Seaton Assistant Living. Afterwards, these ladies were able to give some one-on-one support. Residents learned a variety of information from setting passwords, identifying secure websites, and downloading apps. The girls had a great time and were invited to come back. Job well done, Reyna and Sloane!
