Tall's Tuesday Tidbits
September 3 - 16, 2024
Goodbye August; Hello September! From the Office of Superintendent Tall
Reflecting back on our first couple weeks of school, I would like to thank our amazing students, hardworking school staff, and supportive parents for making the start of school occur so smoothly. The excitement and enthusiasm of all at the start of school sets the tone for the upcoming school year ahead and I predict an amazing 2024-2025 school year for Acadia Parish!
I'd like to announce that September is Attendance Awareness Month. One of the most important requests of parents is to make attendance a priority for our children this school year. In order to reinforce the significance of students being present and engaged in the classroom everyday, starting with the month of September we will begin the Superintendent Challenge by recognizing schools who maintain at least 95% attendance of all students each month. We are also looking for any business sponsors who are willing to help recognize and give donations for schools with the highest percentage and growth each month in the following categories: Elementary Schools, Middle Schools, and High Schools. Below this message you will see the August Attendance Results for schools at or above 95% attendance. Great job to those schools! Can't wait for the challenge to begin in September so the schools can show how much they have improved!!
My hope is that this challenge will reinforce the value of students being present and engaged in learning in the classroom everyday.
September also brings with it the enthusiasm and excitement of Friday Night Lights and the sounds of school spirit at our high schools and in our football stadiums!! Our athletes have been training all summer and are ready to show their abilities. We wish all of them the best to come!
Words cannot express how thankful APSB is to Cajun Comic Relief for the fabulous donation of show proceeds that were dedicated to our Crowley Elementary Schools - Crowley Kindergarten, North Crowley Elementary, Ross Elementary & South Crowley Elementary.
