Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This past Monday, I spoke with one of the security guards who was on duty during our annual Sal vs. Facey football game on September 27th. He shared that it was the best-behaved game he has ever witnessed. Out of the 3,000 attendees, there were zero incidents reported. He was especially impressed by how respectful our students were, even fist-pumping the security guards as they left. We are incredibly proud of the respect our students showed to both the other team and the security staff. Our student body truly made us proud.
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I want to take a moment to express my thanks for your continued support and partnership. It's been a great start to the school year, and your involvement makes a big difference in our students' success. I hope you enjoy some well-deserved time with your loved ones.
If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact us.
Curtis Starko

Sal is excited to have been selected as a pilot school for APOP (Alberta Postsecondary Options Project). This program is designed to support students in their postsecondary choices with workshops and training. Grade 12 students will also have their first application fee waived when they apply to a post-secondary school in Alberta through MyPASS.
If you are applying for October 1, before our APOP sessions start, please see Mr. Caldwell for support.

Opportunity Wednesday:
Opportunity Wednesdays take place every week, except for the first Wednesday of each month. This is a valuable time to receive extra help in your core classes, catch up on CTS projects, or visit our wellness center. Throughout the building, you’ll find various ways to enrich your high school experience. Keep an eye out for special events and opportunities posted around the school.
We have partnered with the Community Adult Learning & Literacy Society (CALLS) to provide English as an Additional Language Learners with Conversational English support. This will be available every Opportunity Wednesday from 2:30 – 3:20 p.m. in room 141. Please contact Ms. Footz in Guidance with any questions.
Science Help:
Science Help will be provided on Opportunity Wednesday as well as any other day at lunch or after school. Please email or talk to your teacher to arrange a time that works for both of you.
