Halloween Costume Guidelines
Dear Students and Families,
Here at South, we welcome the opportunity to share a small part of Halloween with you. We have a long-standing tradition of students dressing up as their favorite character or in a favorite costume. Days such as this are part of the unique, positive atmosphere and vibrant student culture we enjoy in our school. Halloween falls on a Thursday this year so we will provide students with an opportunity to dress in their Halloween costume on Thursday, October 31. With this in mind, we want to communicate expectations regarding outfits: specifically appropriate clothing that is in alignment with the dress code. Costume masks should not conceal a student's entire face and face painting should not conceal a student's identity. Regarding school safety, it is important that we are able to facially identify all students at all times. Limited face art is acceptable--a butterfly, flower or other such partial design--as long as it does not conceal all features/identity. Please also ensure any prop that resembles a weapon, real or otherwise, is not brought to school.
Thank you for reviewing these guidelines and helping us keep our tradition appropriate.
