Our Students Did A Great Job at Science Olympiad!!
On March 4, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders traveled to Siena Heights University to participate in the annual Tri-County Science Olympiad. The students learned a lot while preparing for their events and had fun and made memories at the competition. There were 12 third grade teams, 16 fourth grade teams, and 16 fifth grade teams who competed. Our teams did well and showed good behavior and sportsmanship. The following is a list of our students who placed and won ribbons in their events.
Fifth grade:
2nd place - Mystery Bridge - Evie Cseiszperger and Jayla Kimling
Fourth grade:
1st place - Infinity and Beyond (solar system) - Maximus Shaw and Jessa Kimling
5th place - Michigan Birds - Foster Starlin and Bella Barnett
6th place - Parachute Down - Foster Starlin and Marley Sallows
Third grade:
4th place - Michigan Plants - Greyson Stanley and Brantley Root
4h place - Write It, Create It - Abigail Shaw and Sawyer Fountain
7th place - Tower Challenge - Penelope Bovee and Hattie Camp
7th place - Michigan Reptiles and Amphibians - Sawyer Fountain and Max Camp
Thank you to our coaches: Mrs. Schutte and Mrs. Shaffer for your hours of instruction and guidance!
Keep sending in your Reading Logs for March is Reading Month
If the entire school reads 5,000 books by March 20th, we win a GLOW Party on March 21st at 10:30.
It is always a lot of fun to celebrate March is Reading Month and to watch the students grow by reading and challenging themselves to meet the school-wide goal. Be sure to turn the completed Reading Logs into your teacher or to Mrs. Parker and get a new log so we can keep track of our progress.
See the March is Reading Month Calendar for a fun Month Reading!
Mrs. Martinez is on maternity leave 🐥
The 5th/6th grade class is in very good hands as Mrs. Martinez takes her maternity leave. Mrs. Camp has been preparing to take over the classroom for several weeks and is ready to instruct our students through the end of the year! We are very grateful for her dedication and the enthusiasm she brings to the profession of teaching.
I will be taking on the duties of teaching music and I have been left excellent lessons and instruction from Mrs. Martinez. No one can replace Sarah because she is a truly gifted teacher, but It seems your children will be in very good hands through the end of the year!
Please let me know if you have any concerns or questions!
God Bless,
Anne
