FAC Weekly Update
April 26, 2024
Good Afternoon, FAC Family
It was another fantastic week at the FAC, with so much activity in and out of the studios. Seniors in the Visual Arts program are hard at work in preparing for their upcoming exhibition; Juniors in the Theatre Program presented their original play this week, with performances on Tuesday and Wednesday; and, the FAC Voice Studio's annual Voice Scenes program shines on our Recital Hall stage this Thursday and Friday night. All of our students are continuing to give their best towards the arts, and for that we are grateful!
Here is the latest from the halls of the Fine Arts Center...
Have You Done Your Share?
The Double It Matching Donation Campaign has reached the 50% mark relative to our goal! We are so grateful to all of those who have donated so far. If you have not given yet, please consider doing what you can so that we can reach our goal of $21,000! Remember, what we raise goes back to our students through The Fine Arts Center Partners.
Scholarships, Class and Field Trip Fees, Guest Artists and more...help us continue to provide a world-class education to our students. Please go to https://facpartners.org/doubleit/ to make your contribution. If you know of someone who can help to support this campaign, please spread the word!
This Week's Student Leadership Lesson
Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action
For values or guiding principles to be truly effective they have to be verbs. It’s not “integrity,” it’s “always do the right thing.” It’s not “innovation,” it’s “look at the problem from a different angle.” Articulating our values as verbs gives us a clear idea - we have a clear idea of how to act in any situation."
“There are only two ways to influence human behavior: you can manipulate it or you can inspire it.”
- Simon Sinek
Congratulations - ACE Award Winners
On Wednesday, April 24, Greenville County Schools hosted the annual ACE Awards (Advocates for Character and Education). The ACE Awards, founded by Greg Blatt and Coaches4Character, recognize “Unsung Hero” students within the district. These students have exhibited strong character and valuing education.
ACE Awards are given to two 8th grade and 12th grade students from each middle and high school. The 2024 ACE Awards winners will be celebrated April 24 during an exciting, invitation only program honoring their outstanding character, community service, and academic determination.
The Fine Arts Center is proud of our two students who were selected for this honor!
