From the desk of Principal Zeigler
I hope everyone had a nice Spring Break. The weather is finally catching up to the season and I am here for the warmer weather and sunshine. Thank you to the PTO for bringing the Bash the Trash assembly to Brayton. What a wonderful way to celebrate Earth Day!
For those of you who participated in Bring Your Child to Work Day, I hope you had a wonderful experience with your child (children) for the day.
Thank you to all of the parents who taught Earth Day lessons, the students truly enjoyed it.
Parents in grades 3-5: NJSLA testing starts in 2 weeks. Testing will begin promptly at 8:30 am. If your child comes to school after testing begins, they will have to wait and take the section they missed on a make up day. Please remind your child that they must be at school on time.
Enjoy your weekend and may the good weather stick around.

Red Flag Daysđźš©
Just a friendly reminder: In the morning, students will always line up outside in assigned areas. Supervision begins at 8:05 and doors open for students at 8:15am. The school day begins at 8:15am.
When there are mornings with inclement weather, we may call a Red Flag Day.
During inclement weather days, red flags are flown. Inclement weather consists of heavy precipitation or extreme cold. This information can also be found in the Brayton School Family Handbook.
Students are allowed to bring umbrellas to school.

On inclement weather mornings, many will be driving their children to school and dropping them off. Inclement weather mornings are those mornings where there is heavy precipitation or extreme cold. A red flag will fly on both Myrtle Ave. and the Junior Playground to indicate an “in-day” arrival. On red flag days, students may enter the school at 8:05 am and proceed to the gym, where they will remain under aide supervision until 8:15. Teachers will meet their classes at 8:15 am, when the school day begins. Please ensure that students are dressed appropriately for the weather.

Your email must include your child’s name and class in the subject line. If there is a change in dismissal, please make sure the email is sent NO LATER than 2:30pm.
You can also use this email address to report an absence. Please remember to include the date of the absence and the reason. Don’t forget to copy your child’s teacher.

Families, please be aware that all phones and Smart watches are not allowed to be on or worn during the school day. They are turned off when school begins and placed in your child's backpack. If you are dropping off items for your child, please make sure they are labeled with your child's name. You will be able to leave them on the blue table in the entranceway. We will email your child's teacher to inform them that the item is there and they will collect it as soon as they are able to.

Please assist with having your children come straight to their class line in the morning when they arrive to school. The aides are there to supervise them on the blacktop and to help ensure that they start the school day safely. Children are not allowed on playground equipment in the morning. Adult supervision begins at 8:05 am. Students will enter the building with their class at 8:15 am and they will be dismissed at 3:00pm.
