A huge thank you to Demi who held a lemonade stand to raise money for our new park! Demi raised $31 and these proceeds will go to the park fund! Way to go, Demi!

Further to our district messaging, we will be running a staggered start for all classes Kindergarten to 6 next year. Students with last names beginning with A-K will attend on August 28 and students with last names starting with L-Z will attend on August 29. ALL students will attend on August 30.

What an amazing school year this has been! This group of students were blessed to experience cross-graded activities, numerous clubs, field trips and whole school gatherings! Together we learned, we explored, we pushed ourselves, we celebrated and we created a safe haven that nurtured our minds and our hearts throughout this school year.

We thank our parents for putting their trust in us to take care of their little ones and guide them along the way. It is this amazing connection and unconditional partnership that has made this year such a success and we are so grateful for your support.

We wish our Grade Six students all the best as they leave our BK nest and move on to junior high. Thank you for being our such responsible role models and the leaders of our school.

We hope all families get a chance to "re-set", to re-discover things that they have missed and to explore new adventures. Stay safe, stay healthy and stay connected to what brings you joy.

We bid farewell to our "Sensational Sixes" at BK! They were our leaders in so many ways from being big buds to our youngest learners, lunch hour supervisors and playground friends - we feel so blessed to have had them in our school. We will miss you and we thank you for everything you have contributed to Bertha Kennedy while you have been here! God bless you and we wish you the best next year! All families are welcome to join us for our Year End Liturgy/Farewell on Saturday Wednesday, June 26 at 10:30 AM.

Join us to kick off the 2024-25 school year on August 26 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. This is an opportunity to meet your child's teacher, drop off school supplies and connect with other families in our community. We hope to see all BK families there!

Report cards will be accessible through the PowerSchool Parent Portal on June 27th. To locate your child's report card:

1. You will need to log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Click HERE to connect to the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

Please bookmark this link so you can easily use the PowerSchool Parent Portal in the future.

2. Once you have logged in, there is a list of Navigation links on the left-hand side of the screen. At the bottom of the list, please click on the Report Card link to proceed to the next screen.

3. You will then be able to select the report card you wish to view as a PDF. Once you click the report card link, you also have the option to download the report card.

5. Once downloaded, you can open the file to view and Save. Please save or print off a copy of the report card for future reference.

To view your child's report card, you will need to do so using a computer (desktop or notebook) or a Chromebook – a mobile device is not supported.

If you have not created a PowerSchool Parent Portal account, please get in touch with your child's school for assistance.

Bring Your Own Robust Device (BYORD)

Robust Technology Device: Although we won’t recommend specific models or kinds of devices, we encourage you to by a device that features the following for the best learning results:

• Wireless networking capability (the Division provides filtered wireless access in all buildings for students)
• A microphone
• An external keyboard for entering text
• Audio output for earbuds or headphones
• A minimum of 6 hours of use from one battery charge
• A full-functioning, recent Chrome web browser that will allow access to Google Apps for Education tools and documents
• A sturdy carrying case (NO backpack) that will protect the device
• An integrated camera that takes both still photos and video

There is no perfect device, however, the following are examples of devices that meet the criteria above:

1. Chromebooks (ex. Asus Chromebook, Acer Chromebook, HP Chromebook Samsung Chromebook)
2. Laptop (ex. Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, Acer Aspire, HP laptop, Toshiba Satellite Laptop)

Students will only be permitted to use their own devices at school if the “Learning with Technology: Responsible Use Agreement has been completed. Please review with your child.
