Primary Families,
Can you believe that it is already October? We have had a wonderful, yet busy, start to our school year. During the month of September, we administered roughly 1,100 ATLAS and MAP tests, had our color run and tailgated for Homecoming.
I wanted to take a minute to say thank you for supporting our initiative to purchase an inclusive playground piece through our color run. It was a HUGE success and we appreciate your help in getting us closer to our goal!
October looks to be shaping up as a busy month as well. Please read below about our upcoming events.
- Parent Teacher Conferences: Week of October 14th. Our goal is to meet with 100% of our families. Please be on the lookout for an email from your teacher to schedule your time.
- Scholastic Book Fair-week of October 14th.
- No School October 18th and 21st
- Fall Picture Day is October 22nd.
- October 28th-November 1st-Red Ribbon Week
- October 31st-Fall Parties
Sincerely,
Darah Bennett

Hello Primary Families!
The school year is off to a great start! I have had the pleasure of meeting with many students already, and have loved getting to know your kiddos! October is National Bullying Prevention Month, so we will be learning about how to be an upstander and using our "Big Voice" when someone does something we don't like. At this age, conflicts are often labeled as "bullying." We are working on not labeling other students as bullies, but talk about "bully-like behavior. An action has to be repetitive for it to be considered bullying. We will be reading “Billy Bully" in Kindergarten, “Juice Box Bully” in 1st, and "Bully BEANS" in 2nd grade. We will practice what to do when we experience unkind behavior and how to help one another! We take bullying very seriously at the Primary. Here is the District Bullying Policy as well as Bullying Resources if you would like more information.
We have started the SnackPack program here at the Primary. If your family is in need of extra snacks for the weekends, please send me an email!
Thank you for your continued support! Please continue to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. :)

Hello Parents & Happy Fall.
I hope you all are enjoying the cooler days, mostly mornings, but I’ll take it.
Students are starting to wear jackets and by noon it’s warmer and some are left on the playground and end up in lost and found. If your child has lost something, please have them check the lost and found. There are lunch boxes, several jackets, shirts and cups.
If their name is on it, I do my best to return it to them.
I am working on organizing everything in the lost and found by hoodie, jackets, sweatshirts, etc so that it is easier for them to find.
If you haven’t already, Please send an extra set of clothes with your child to keep in their backpack in case they have an accident. I know that most of you work and there have been times I have had to call because they didn’t have any extra clothes and I didn’t have that particular size. We do have some clothes, but I go through the little ones fast.
Thank you to all who have donated. I really appreciate it. We are still needing new or gently used boys and girls size 5,6,7 and 8 if you are interested in donating.

It’s that time again…BOOK FAIR TIME! The book fair will begin Friday, October 11-Thursday, October 17th. We will have TWO late shopping nights during Parent/Teacher conferences on Tuesday, October 15th and Thursday, October 17th from 3:30-6:30 so you can come and shop with your child. If your child plans to shop at school, I encourage you to use the ewallet feature, so you don’t have to worry about lost money. It is quick and easy to set up! You can find instructions on our book fair home page Pea Ridge Primary Book Fair Home Page Please note, students will ONLY be able to shop on their scheduled library day. We will not be open in the morning before school unless the child is accompanied by an adult. If you have a special circumstance that requires your child to shop on a day other than the day they are scheduled, please contact their teacher and we will work out a time for them to shop during the week or you can shop with them on Tuesday or Thursday night. We just don’t have enough staff to monitor free flow shopping throughout the day and give everyone a chance to shop. Thank you in advance for understanding.
