Welcome Back
A Message from Mrs. Klaas
Farley Elementary Families,
Welcome back to the 2024-2025 school year. I hope you and your families enjoyed summer filled with a lot of fun and sun! We are well on our way getting ready for the new school year. Our custodial staff has been working hard preparing the building, and teachers have been preparing their classrooms for students.
We are excited about instructional changes that will be taking place this school year. We are implementing a new math curriculum called Bridges. Teachers have been busy learning and organizing the new math materials. We also have new reading curriculum that we learned about and began implementing last school year. This school year we will be in full implementation of this resource. We are looking forward to the growth our students will experience in both reading and math.
There are physical updates happening as well for our building and district. Our new playground is set to be installed within the first couple of weeks of school. Staff and students are anxiously waiting the installation of the playground, and we look forward to the many smiles when this project is complete. We have also updated our district and school website. The new website will be a valuable tool for news, events, and important information. Additionally, we have launched the Western Dubuque app, available for download on both Google Play and the Apple App Store (search Western Dubuque Schools, ia). The app provides convenient access to school updates, calendars, text message notifications and more right at your fingertips.
My hopes for this upcoming school year is that we continue to strengthen the partnership between home and school. Through support, connection and opportunities, we will work together to make the greatest influence on student growth. I am looking forward to a great school year! If you have questions or need support, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Amanda Klaas
Building Principal
