Happy New Year!
As we enter this exciting new year, we want to extend our warmest wishes to you and your family. We hope this year brings joy, health, and continued progress to your incredible students.
We have the privilege of witnessing your student's amazing journeys each day. They remind us that progress is not always about reaching a destination or achieving a specific goal but about celebrating the steps we take, no matter how small. Their resilience, determination, and unique abilities are a constant source of inspiration.
Our theme for this year, “Every Second Counts,” reflects our commitment to cherishing every moment and making meaningful strides together. Whether it’s a new word spoken, a task mastered, or confidence gained, each second holds the potential for growth and triumph.
As parents, you play an essential role in nurturing this progress. Your partnership is invaluable, and we are grateful for your commitment. Together, we will continue to create an environment where your children feel supported, challenged, and celebrated.
We encourage you to stay engaged with us throughout this new year. Attend events, participate in PTA meetings, take your student to POP, and share your insights—your involvement makes a difference. Remember, our doors are always open, and we value your feedback and collaboration. We are committed to open communication and look forward to hearing from you.
Here’s to a year filled with big and small achievements and to celebrate every student's unique and remarkable progress in our school community. Together, let’s make 2025 a year to remember!

Staff and Student Store Contributions Needed!
To reward our fantastic staff and provide job-like training to some students who can only leave campus occasionally, we will offer free snacks to all staff each afternoon!
For this to be as successful as possible, we will also need your help. You have the power to make a difference. Please donate snacks to the school, which we will disseminate to our staff. Any individually packaged snacks or drinks (non-alcoholic) will work. You can drop them off at the office, send them with your student, or even have them shipped here from anywhere in the USA.
We thank you in advance for your gifts and for wanting our students and staff to feel the love.
What's Happening on Campus
MLK Day Holiday
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is observed on the third Monday of January each year. King was a chief spokesperson for nonviolent activism in the Civil Rights Movement, which protested racial discrimination in federal and state law and civil society. We honor his legacy and contributions by partaking in a day of service if possible.

In the past, events have included UT sporting events, park picnics, arcades, and more! At the events, participants are paired with trained, college-age volunteers in a ratio that best reflects their level of need/ independence.
Here is the link to the website: www.austinunite.org. To get your child involved, navigate to the "parent interest form" under the participants tab.
