Notes from the Family Ambassador
Only a couple more days until we take some time for rest during Wellness Week. Families can celebrate Wellness Week in a variety of ways. Ideas like trying new activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. One way to kick off the week could be participating in outdoor activities together; family hikes, bike rides, or a friendly game of soccer in the park. (Note to all my adults, make sure you stretch before taking on those kiddos!) These activities not only provide physical exercise but also offer quality time to bond. Additionally, families could use Wellness Week as an opportunity to explore healthy cooking, preparing nutritious meals together and introducing new foods to friends and family. Sharing in these experiences can help reinforce healthy habits while fostering a sense of teamwork and togetherness.
Mental wellness is just as important as physical health. I would encourage families to incorporate mindfulness practices into their routine during Wellness Week. You could try activities like family meditation, journaling, or even simply discussing how everyone is feeling over breakfast or dinner. To encourage emotional well-being, families can focus on gratitude; try talking about things for which your family is thankful, or by making a "positivity jar" where everyone can contribute uplifting thoughts. To round out the week, families could participate in a community wellness event or volunteer together, reinforcing the value of giving back and strengthening social connections. Whatever you decide to do, make sure to save time for a nap here and there. Enjoy your rest!
We love to learn. Go get'em Gators!

School Nurse Update
School Counselor Update
Happy Thanksgiving and Wellness Week. I know that I am looking forward to spending some restful time with my own children. Take the time to relax and enjoy your kids. Here are some wellness habits for kids:
Exercise - daily exercise can build healthy bodies and develop their brains. 20 minutes a day can help kids become more fit and learn better!
Limit Screen Time - limit the time and remove phones and electronics from the kids’ rooms at night.
Sleep Schedule - stick to a bedtime schedule even when it is break time!
Model Healthy Behaviors - kids learn how to take care of themselves by watching you take care of yourself.

PLAYERS FOR COED REC LEAGUE
The Clintonville Basketball Association (CBA) welcomes any and all who want to play in its co-ed recreational league. The CBA Senior League is for boys and girls aged 13 to 16 and the Junior League is for those aged 8 to 12. (Players who are 12 or 16 years old as of December 14 will be eligible to play in the Junior or Senior leagues even if they turn 13 or 17 during the CBA season.)
The CBA season runs from January to mid-March. Each team will play 10 games and have at least 10 practices. Senior League Games are played Saturday mornings. Junior League games are each Saturday afternoon. All games are at Ridgeview Middle School. Practices are at either Ridgeview or another school in the north Columbus area on weekday evenings. Each team plays both a four quarter "varsity" and two quarter "JV" game each week. Some players participate in both games but the most experienced players only play the varsity game.
The cost of joining a CBA team is $110. CBA requests that all players come to one or both of the evaluation/sign up days. CBA coaches evaluate players at the sign ups so that they can draft teams of relatively equal talent as best possible. Evaluation/sign up days are December 7 and December 14 at Ridgeview Middle School. Senior League sign ups are from 10:30 AM until 12 noon. Junior League sign ups are from 9 until 10:30 AM. For any questions, feel free to call Randy Colby at 740-718-4026, or email Bill Stewart at <stewjma@yahoo.com>, or visit the CBA website at <www.cbaclintonvillebasketball.com
