Good morning Saint Patrick families,
As we approach our first Teacher Conferences of the year on November 14, I want to take a moment to emphasize how valuable these meetings are for your child’s growth and success. Conferences are an opportunity for us to come together and discuss your student's progress, strengths, and areas for growth. We value this time to connect with you, as open communication between the school and home makes a positive impact on each student’s educational journey. While our first scheduled conferences are next week, please know that teachers are always here to discuss your child’s progress, and a conference can be scheduled at any time throughout the school year.
At Saint Patrick Catholic School, we believe that you, the parents, are the primary educators of your child, and we are here to support and partner with you in this vital role. Your involvement is incredibly important to us, and we’re committed to working together to ensure your child’s success. If you’re wondering what to discuss during conferences, here are five helpful questions that might guide the conversation:
- What are my child’s strengths and areas for growth?
- How does my child contribute to the classroom environment?
- What can we do at home to support my child’s learning?
- Are there any upcoming projects or activities my child should prepare for?
- How can we best work together to help my child succeed?
Thank you for your commitment to being an active part of our school community. We look forward to connecting with you next week and continuing to work together to make this a wonderful year for your child!
May God bless you and your families,
Rick Logue
October Students of the Month
This year, we're excited to spotlight two amazing students each month as our Students of the Month! Teachers and staff nominate students who are going above and beyond, and then we all come together to vote for the winners. For October, we're thrilled to announce that Bianca Baker and Hana Ueoka are our Students of the Month! Congratulations to both of them for their hard work and dedication!
Winter Uniform Information
As a reminder to all families, students are not permitted to wear shorts to school after October 31.
Please be advised that any student who arrives in shorts after this date will need to call home to have their parents bring the appropriate uniform pants. Thank you for helping us maintain our dress code and keep everyone prepared for the changing season!
Shamrock Shoutouts
Every day, students have the opportunity to earn a Shamrock Shout-out. These are given to students who go above the everyday expectations of the students. In the past week, the following students earned a Shamrock Shout-out:
- Dylan Spencer for being thoughtful (from Mrs. Rogerson).
- Rena Miyauchi for participating in class (from Mrs. Collins).
Help House Thanksgiving Food Drive
As Thanksgiving approaches, Saint Patrick Catholic School is coming together to support families in need through our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive for Help House. From Monday, November 11, through Friday, November 15, students and families are invited to bring in donations of food items that will make a meaningful difference this holiday season. This drive is a wonderful way for our community to share the blessings we’ve received and to embody the spirit of giving that Thanksgiving represents.
Help House has shared their most-needed items to help prepare Thanksgiving meals for families in our community: cans of corn, dry stuffing mix, gravy (in jars, cans, boxes, or packets of dry mix), and Jiffy muffin mix. Every donation, big or small, helps provide comfort and nourishment to those who might otherwise go without. We encourage our students to bring in these items throughout the week and help us create a memorable Thanksgiving for our neighbors. Thank you for your generosity and support of this meaningful cause!
School Picture Retake Day
School Picture Retake Day is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13. If your family would like to have your child’s school picture retaken, please remember to bring the original photo packet with you on this day. This will ensure that we know which pictures are being replaced.
For retake day, students are allowed to be out of uniform for their pictures; however, they must bring their Mass uniform to school to change into immediately after their photos are taken. We appreciate your cooperation in helping the day run smoothly, and we look forward to seeing those smiles!
End of the First Grading Period - Two- Hour Early Dismissal
Book Fair!
The Book Fair is coming up next week, and we can’t wait to dive into some amazing new reads! Exciting highlights include the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid and a brand new Dog Man available for pre-order.
On Monday, your kids will be making their Book Fair Wish Lists, which you can use during Parent Teacher Conference Night to pick up books (perfect for Christmas gifts!) for your kids, family, and friends! Thank you for supporting our library!
You can also check out our school's Book Fair website for more details.
