K-12th GRADE INFORMATION
PowerSchool Breach
Dear ALA Family –
We are writing to make you aware of a recent cybersecurity incident involving PowerSchool, the software vendor which provides our Student Information System (SIS).
On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, PowerSchool informed our administrative team that they experienced a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to certain PowerSchool SIS customer data. Unfortunately, they have confirmed that the information belongs to some of ALA’s families and educators.
PowerSchool informed us that the taken data primarily includes parent and student contact information with data elements such as name and address information. Across their customer base, they have determined that for a portion of individuals, some personally identifiable information (PII), such as medical information, was impacted. They are working with urgency to complete their investigation and determine whether PII belonging to our students was included.
Protecting our students is something we take seriously. With PowerSchool’s help, more information and resources (including credit monitoring or identity protection services if applicable) will be provided to you as it becomes available.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Sincerely,
Richard Morley
Director, ALA

ELEMENTARY INFORMATION
Note from our Elementary Principal - Rhett Anderson
Dear ALA Families,
It's been wonderful seeing our hallways buzzing with energy and excitement again as we kick off this second part of the year!
At our Parent Conferences back in November, we sent a survey to help us get a better understanding of how this year has been going so far from the parent perspective. Thank you for sharing your valuable feedback. We had 92 responses and your insights help us understand what we’re doing well and where we can improve to ensure the best experience for our students, families, and staff here in the Elementary. Below, we’ve summarized your input and outlined how we plan to address your suggestions both short term and long term. To view these results please view the PDF. If you have any questions please feel free to let me know by emailing me at randerson@americanleadership.net.
Your feedback is essential to our success as a school. We are so grateful to all of you that took the time to fill this survey out. We’re already exploring ways to address the areas you highlighted. Together, we can ensure a supportive, engaging, and safe learning environment for all of our students.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support!
