Notes from East Hill Elementary
September 27, 2024
Message from East Hill Principal
Dear East Hill Elementary School Families,
Wow! We had an amazing Jogathon today! Thank you so much to our PTA, our volunteers, our staff, our families, and of course- our students that were our shining stars! The money that is raised from this important event sponsors all of our wonderful events the PTA provides to our school community throughout the year. The students gave it their all and had a great time!
For our families with Grades 1-4 students, please look for an informational letter coming home early next week regarding our universal screening procedures and your child's math and reading FAST reports. These documents are incredibly valuable in helping us tailor our instruction and support for our Wildcats as we work through the fall and winter months.
Are you connected with ParentSquare? If not, now is the perfect time to get set up! This platform is a fantastic way to stay connected with your child’s teacher and receive important updates. Just a reminder: our staff will respond to communications within 24 hours M-F, during school hours, so we appreciate your understanding as we strive to maintain effective communication.
As part of our commitment to safety, we will conduct emergency drills throughout next week. We’re hopeful for favorable weather to facilitate these important practices.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Susan Meskos
Congratulations to this week's Wildcat Wow Prize winners!

📱 Electronic Devices 📱
As we return to school in the new school year we would like all Wildcat families to review our policy regarding electronic devices. Our elementary policy regarding such devices reads:
"Personally owned electronic games and devices, such as cell phones, CD players, iPods, remote control cars, hand-held video games etc., must be off and away throughout the school day. These items can be lost, stolen, broken and are a distraction. The school cannot and will not be responsible for these items. Please help us by keeping them at home."
Students who violate this policy may be subject to the following disciplinary sequence:
First Report:
The student will receive a warning.
Second Report:
Parents will be notified.
Third Report:
The device will be taken away and a parent/guardian will be required to pick it up.
Please note at this time all apple watches or similar devices are allowed but are not to be used for anything other than telling time and must not be a distraction, during school hours. These watches or similar devices will follow the same reports above if they are a distraction and/or being used inappropriately.
East Hill Safety Patrols
Our Safety Patrol program has begun! Any 4th grade student that was interested in this leadership role applied by completing an application. Officer Clarke trained the first squad of our patrols that will be serving for the month of October. Our next squad will begin in November as many students are excited for this opportunity!
