Lowell News
November 8, 2024
Greetings Lowell!
I hope this message finds you well. We have had a truly wonderful week here at Lowell, with the weather continuing to delight us all and reminding us of the crisp, beautiful days of September. It’s hard to believe that we are already approaching the midpoint of November!
One of the highlights of our week was the heartwarming collaboration between our students in the Lowell Buddies program. Our young learners came together to create heartfelt cards, poems, and drawings to honor and express gratitude to our Veterans. This activity not only allowed them to showcase their creativity but also helped instill a deep sense of respect and appreciation for those who have served our country.
To further commemorate Veterans Day, we gathered as a whole school community in a special assembly. It was a moving occasion as we took the time to honor all veterans, with particular recognition for two remarkable heroes among us, Mr. Swift and Mr. Helberg. Their contributions and sacrifices have been invaluable, and we are proud to have them as part of our [School Name] family. Hearing their stories and learning from their experiences was truly inspiring for both students and staff alike.
We look forward to continuing this energy of respect and community involvement as we move through November and into the holiday season. As always, thank you for your unwavering support and involvement in your child’s education. It is through our collaborative efforts that we create such a nurturing and dynamic learning environment.
Wishing you all a restful and pleasant weekend.
With Gratitude,
Stacy & Tara
Annual Fall Verification will Open Soon
We are excited to announce the Fall Annual Verification 24-25 will open soon. This process utilizes our online registration/enrollment system and is required annually to verify and update student demographic, health, family, contact data and permissions. Guardians/parents will receive an email for each student with a SNAPCODE . A snapcode is like a key to your student’s current information. Using the link in the Snapcode email, you are automatically directed to your student’s data on Watertown’s Registration/Enrollment site. Each snapcode is unique to one student. You will receive a separate email/snapcode for each student. The Fall Annual Verification needs to be completed by 11/22/2024. You can contact the Registrar's Office at (617) 972-4216 or email terri.stafford@watertown.k12.ma.us to ask general questions about the form or process.

Ms. MacAuley's Third Grade Class
Here is a picture from Ms. MacAuley third grade class. Activity in Wit and Wisdom this week. All the students were assigned a news station and were reporters asking questions of the two doctors who study giant squids! Everyone can be posted but Duncan, his back is the only thing visible of him!
We are proud of Melissa Frank and Kate MacAuley for earning professional status.

Help Support Our School!
After noticing how much unopened food is thrown away during lunch time, 3rd grader Naomi Ward has worked with staff and other community members to create a food rescue program at the school. She is raising funds to purchase a glass-fronted fridge for the school cafeteria where unopened food can be stored and made available to students during, before, and in after-school programs. All leftover food will be delivered to the Watertown Community Fridge for the greater community to access.
Here is the link to the fundraiser if you'd like to participate in raising funds for this project. All money will go to the FTO account and then be dispersed for this project: https://gofund.me/dc18c38f
Watertown Public Schools Announces Family Meet and Greet Series
We Need Your Support
Dear Lowell Parents & Guardians,
The Department of Children and Families is seeking to keep Watertown children in their
schools and communities. In order to accomplish this, DCF is looking for Watertown parents
who would consider opening their homes and hearts to a student in need for short-term
care.
Please complete this brief survey if you are interested in opening your home and your
heart to a student in need.
We are so appreciative of your support. We’re hoping that with your help, we can reduce disruption for
children and school communities, mitigate traumatic experiences for children entering care, and reduce
transportation costs to school districts this school year.
If you have any questions you would like to ask before doing so, please reach out to:
