Adult Career Pathways Classes run September 30 - December 20, 2024, so sign up now (by Sept 25)!
Some classes require additional testing and/or paperwork to register. Click on the icons (pictures) and videos below by each class to see more information and requirements. Ask your teacher or see an advisor to see if you qualify (or need to test) or if you have questions.
We also offer English Language Learning (ELL), GED, College Preparation, math, and more classes. If you miss the registration deadline or do not qualify for one of the Career Pathways trainings yet, new students can start the above classes at the beginning of each month if they have completed the registration process by the last Wednesday of the month.
Introduction to Small Business

Low Pressure Boiler's License

Course Description
This course leads to a state special license, which is the first step needed to operate or tend to low pressure stationary steam boilers and auxiliary steam equipment such as pumps, compressors and air conditioning equipment.
A few career pathways for individuals interested in this course are Janitorial, Building Maintenance, or Apartment Caretaker positions.
Requirements:
- 12 week commitment to the class
- One of the following reading scores
- ELL Level C1 +
- TABE 11/12 442+
- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to lift 60+pounds
- Able to bend, squat, and climb ladder
Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Permit
September 30 - December 20, 2024
For ELL C1 and above and L1 students:

Course Description
This class provides students with the knowledge necessary to pass the Federal and State of Minnesota Commercial Drivers License Permit. Course content prepares students for the following:
- General knowledge test
- Air brake test
- Combination vehicle test
- Pre-trip vehicle inspection test
Requirements:
- 8 week commitment to the class
- One of the following Reading test scores:
- ELL C1 and higher
- TABE 11/12 442+
- 21 years of age
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- No DWI’s, no speeding tickets in the last five years
- No accidents in the last three years
- Able to sit for long periods of time
