Spring Break Starts Tomorrow 3/7
February 2025 ENews
Hello RMS Families,
February zoomed by in a flurry of excitement! We had fantastic grade-level field trips and a hugely successful RMS Activity Night. A massive thank you to all the incredible parent volunteers who made these events possible – your support is invaluable! And we were truly overwhelmed by your generosity with the field trip scholarships. Thanks to your donations (over $600!), every student who wished to attend was able to go. The continued generosity of this community is truly remarkable.
Field Trip Highlights:
Teachers sharing the joy of tubing with first-timers!
Helping students take their first tentative steps (or glides!) on the ice.
Watching students simply enjoy being kids, laughing and connecting outside the classroom.
Embracing the beautiful outdoors with our amazing students.
Witnessing those bright smiles as students experienced new adventures.
Seeing new friendships blossom through shared experiences.
The RMS Activity Night was a resounding success! We enjoyed a variety of activities, from dancing and crafting to classic games like the ring toss and cake walk, as well as board games and a movie. The highlight? It was entirely planned and executed by our fantastic RMS Kindness Council, led by Mrs. Busch. Seeing our students take ownership and bring their vision to life was truly inspiring!
As previously shared, our RMS commitments center on: empowering students as learners, fostering a strong sense of belonging within the RMS community, and cultivating agency through enriching learning experiences. We reinforce these commitments through our 1-minute counselor meetings. Each grade level has a targeted focus: 6th grade meetings focused on the transition to middle school, 7th grade meetings will support social-emotional connections, and 8th grade meetings will prepare for the transition to high school. We extend our sincere gratitude to our counselors for providing this valuable opportunity for our students.
Spring break is upon us! We hope all our students have a chance to recharge, relax, and enjoy some well-deserved downtime. We eagerly anticipate welcoming them back with enthusiasm and encouragement as we embark on the final trimester.
Wishing you all a wonderful break!
Warmly,
Kaela Rekucki

Reporting Student Absences and Late Arrival Procedure
Calling in student absences or late arrivals
As a reminder, all attendance-related matters should be reported through the ParentVue app or on the absence line.
To report a student absence or late arrival via phone, please dial 763-506-5800 and press #1 to leave a message. The absence line is monitored regularly throughout the day, with a strong focus in the morning hours.
Going forward, if one bypasses the option (#1) to leave a message about attendance, the staff member who answers your call will transfer your call to the absence line for you to leave a message.
Thank you for reviewing this process. We are often supporting students in the morning and working to help them get off to a great start. Families utilizing the attendance line helps us be more efficient and be available to best support the students in front of us on a daily basis.
If there is an urgent attendance matter and you need to speak to a staff member, please press "0". The direct attendance line is 763-506-5806 if one wishes to bypass the prompts.
