A Few Words from the Principal
Technology is an important resource in the learning process. We are thankful that each student has their own device to help them demonstrate what they know, understand, and can do. Computers also allow for increased collaboration, communication, and innovation. We love to challenge our students to be inventors, creators, communicators, researchers, and much more on a daily basis and technology makes all of these skills/ qualities more readily attainable. We also love to celebrate and share our students learning through Showcase Nights and emails, or other apps that allow for us to share work with parents. However, students need to take care of their devices so that they remain in working condition. We have seen an increase in broken screens and damaged computers over the last few weeks. Here are a few tips to discuss with your student to help keep their computers in good working condition.
- Carry the laptop with two hands and don't carry it by the screen
- When traveling between classes keep your computer closed so you can see where you are going
- Do not close your computer with something on the keyboard - this may break the screen
- Do not touch other people's computers - if you break someone else's computer you are responsible for the repair.
- Leave the case on the computer. Trying to remove the case may result in the screen breaking.
We know that accidents happen and if a student has a need for a repair on their computer we need to get that fixed. Every student gets one significant repair taken care of at no cost. Any significant repairs needed after the first repair starts at $50 and increases.
We thank you for helping us keep our new computers in great working condition allowing our students to develop and demonstrate their amazing skills.
Take care,
Jennifer Smith
Principal

Saluting our Veterans - Deadline to RSVP is November 1
We would like to recognize the veterans near and dear to us here at Monticello Trails Middle School on Veteran's Day. Please take a few minutes to share the names of relatives that are veterans or are actively serving to protect our country and freedoms.
Friday, November 10, we would like to invite those service people that are nearby to join us for donuts and a short celebration starting at 7:45am.
Please clink on the link below to provide us with the names of relatives that are veterans or are actively serving to protect our country and freedoms. As well as to RSVP for those service people who will be joining us for our celebration on November 11.
Please have these submitted by November 1 to allow for us to finalize plans.
