A Note from the Office
Thank you for taking the time to meet with your child’s teacher during parent/teacher conferences. These conversations are vital in building the partnership that supports your child’s growth and success. Now that you’ve had your conference, you might be wondering, *what comes next?* Here are a few steps to keep the momentum going:
1. **Reflect Together:**
After the conference, talk with your child about what you discussed. Highlight their strengths and celebrate their successes. If goals were set, share those in a positive and supportive way to encourage excitement about growth.
2. **Follow Up on Plans:**
If specific strategies or resources were recommended, start putting them into action. Whether it’s reading more at home, practicing math skills, or working on social interactions, consistency is key.
3. **Stay in Touch:**
Conferences are just one opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher. Keep the lines of communication open. Reach out with questions, updates, or concerns throughout the year to ensure you’re all working together.
4. **Create a Routine:**
Turn any recommendations from the conference into part of your family’s daily or weekly routine. Small, regular steps—like reviewing homework together or setting aside time for reading—can make a big difference.
5. **Celebrate Progress:**
Learning and growth take time, so be sure to celebrate achievements along the way, no matter how small. Acknowledging effort helps build your child’s confidence and motivation.
We value your partnership and are here to support you and your child every step of the way. If you have any questions or need additional guidance, don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or our school team.
Together, we can continue to make this a great year for learning and growing!
Be well,
Evan Chelman, Principal

Pertussis Advisory
Pertussis and Pneumonia Letter from District Nurses
Newsletter Update from the Nurses
Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Bordetella pertussis are spreading in Massachusetts, particularly among school-age children and adolescents. The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) is asking Massachusetts health care providers to have a high index of suspicion for mycoplasma pneumonia and pertussis in patients presenting with respiratory symptoms and to ensure that all patients are up to date on DTaP and Tdap vaccines.
Please see the links below for additional details about testing, treatment, and vaccination recommendations for these infections. Please be sure that your child is up to date on immunizations.
