October 1, 2024
Dear Families,
It is really hard to believe we have already wrapped up September and are marching into October. The days can feel long at times, but the weeks sure do fly. With a month of school under their belt, students have their routines down and are settling into their learning communities. While there are certainly many academic and social goals for children at school, a huge piece of each grade level is teaching students how to be independent - readers, thinkers, problem solvers, self care skills, etc. Independence is a skill that can be worked on at each age. As we head into Fall, we encourage your collaboration in reinforcing independence by giving your child opportunities at home to practice their age appropriate independent skills - from zippering coats, opening common lunch or snack items you are packing for them, spending a set amount of uninterrupted time reading or looking at books, getting in and out of a vehicle on their own, assisting with chores around the house, etc. These are all skills that empower our students, but also grow them in their ability to navigate and do things on their own.
Our Panther Prowl fun run/walk event is this Friday, October 4th. Students brought home a packet last week to collect any pledges and they should return it back to school on October 4th. Our Top 3 Fundraisers and our Top Runner at each grade level will get a chance to slime a staff member at our October assembly. This is our PTO’s fundraising event for the year that supports the cost of hosting all PTO events during the school year, teacher wishlists, All School Read books, 5th grade Future Wildcat days, birthday books for students on their birthday, and much more!

REMINDER: ON-SITE CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY ASSOCIATES CLINICS
As we begin a new school year, our core value of well-being remains a priority as we work to serve students and families in our community. Our Student Services staff, composed of our school psychologists, counselors, social workers, nurses, and other specialized staff, continue to promote positive mental health by providing comprehensive support to our students. In addition, we want to remind you of the onsite partnership we have with Clinical Psychology Associates (CPA). CPA has established counseling clinics with a team of five therapists working at Franklin High School, Forest Park Middle School, Pleasant View Elementary, and Country Dale Elementary. All students and families within our district have access to these services.
Clinical Psychology Associates also has an outpatient location in Oak Creek, providing another convenient way for families to receive therapeutic services if an off-site location is preferred, while still benefiting from the collaborative partnership with the district. For more information please see our website. Appointments are scheduled directly with CPA staff by calling or texting (262) 251-1112.
