Dear JFK Families,

October is a month full of exciting learning opportunities and fun activities at JFK! Last week, we were visited by Biddeford Fire and Rescue to learn about fire prevention and safety. We have also started practicing fire drills to make sure we are prepared at school. Our friends have done so well with learning these important procedures.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are just around the corner! Wednesday, November 6th, is an Early Release Day, and is one of our days for conferences. Your child's teacher will work with you to schedule a time to meet that day, or offer other times in the coming weeks.

Our Month of Learning

Our friends in Mrs. Haley and Mrs. Aldrich's PreK class have been busy at center time exploring shapes, number puzzles, and with letter and number formation!

All About Me

Kindergarten students in Mrs. McTaggart's class continue to build classroom community by sharing their All About Me Collages. This week Addison and William had the opportunity to present theirs. We loved learning more about our friends!

We loved welcoming loved ones to JFK for our Kindergarten Lunch with a Loved One. We had so many smiling faces as students ate a picnic lunch on the playground with their families, friends, and teachers!

Dental Clinic

JFK is partnering with Tooth Protectors Inc. to offer Preventative Dental Care here at school on Friday, November 8. Services are available for students WITH or WITHOUT dental insurance.

Services are FREE to those with MaineCare, self-pay fees are listed on the permission form, and other dental insurance can be billed. To participate, please fill out this form or click on the below button to complete it online.

BEF’s Pillars of Pride Dinner & Silent Auction

The Biddeford Education Foundation (BEF) is pleased to announce its 7th Annual Pillars of Pride Dinner and Silent Auction. The event is scheduled for October 19th at 6:00 pm at The Lincoln Hotel in Biddeford. This year, the guest of honor will be the Rotary Club of Biddeford Saco. This charitable organization has not only provided substantial donations for scholarships, programming, and students in need but also contributes countless volunteer hours to make our school system a better place, and we are excited to celebrate their members.

Tickets are on sale for $50 each, which includes entry to the event hors d’ouevres and one drink ticket. All proceeds support the needs of students that fall outside of the regular school budget. Through grant monies and fundraising efforts, the BEF is able to provide food, clothing, rent relief, and teacher mini-grants to enrich students' educational experiences.
