VISITING CAMPUS
LUNCH
We love to have families visit Hisle Elementary! Families may come to the campus to have lunch with their child or attend a special event. It's easy! We will open the campus for visitors beginning September 3rd!
- You will sign in at the front office. You should bring a state issued picture ID. Lindsey, the campus receptionist, will scan it and print a visitor badge.
- You will proceed to the location to meet your child for lunch. Often, it's the front foyer for lunch! You may bring outside food for your child only.
- Lunch: As a gentle reminder, lunch is a time friendships are formed, socializing is encouraged, and for this reason, we ask that families have lunch no more than 1x a week. We want chidlren to experience the Hisle cafeteria!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Classroom
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities on campus. Some serve at the classroom level and others support the campus!
Classroom Needs
- Homeroom Rep: This volunteer(s) supports organizing classroom celebrations in the classroom, representing the classroom with PTOl, and supporting communication between PTO and the families!
- Book Room Volunteer: This volunteer serves as the person who comes once a week to checkout books for children's book boxes in the classroom. The teacher typically has a basket that she puts the books in for you to return with a list of levels of books that she needs. Our reading specialists will organize an orientation to support the how.
- Yearbook: We have a campus yearbook, and we ask that we have at least one parent who helps take pictures of the classroom.
- Other: Some classrooms enjoy having a volunteer read with individual students or play a math game. Sometimes, teachers may have lamination that needs cutting out at home. This is an inidvidual need
We are always looking for volunteers to support students. If you wish to read to a student or work with math, reach out to the campus administrative!
Hisle is a new campus, and we love to have volunteers on campus. Some of the roles can include
- WatchDogs: These are male role models that spend time on campus interacting with children. You may eat lunch with a group of children, walk the perimeter of the building, adjust table legs or move books
- Library: The library checks out books for students. Ms. Beaty is always looking for volunteers to organize and restock books on the bookshelves.
- BookRoom Organization: It helps to keep the book room with 2000+ titles organized when we have a few hands helping restock books, checking to ensure titles are together, and organnizing the materials. Our reading specialist will train you.
- Special Events: We're working to determine our special events...so be on the lookout! It's a one time event so it makes it super helpful!
